  1. Are they on a sata controller? You may need to add the drivers for the controller to the image. See Pg 17 and Appendix C about drivers and Appendix A on how to change the startup program in my guide.
  2. the latest version of the Symantec Ghost Solutions Suite v2 has a Recovery Kit which includes a boot loader that provides the Press F11 (or your desired key) option and a deploy only version of ghost to restore a ghost image to the drive. There may also be a way to use the WAIK, which has some kind of recovery application though it may be limited to recovering Vista, I have not yet had a chance to look into it further yet. All you need is a boot loader of some kind that can unhide and boot from a partition and then you os on that partition to do what you need.
  3. My guide is using CMD scripts to run everything fromPE, but you could just as easily modify it to use anything you can get to run from within PE. You've got to get a working PE disc first though.
  4. @jumz - I only used the network and Massstorage packs for the drivers and installed them using the install_drivers.cmd on page 17. I'll try and clarify that in the guide. @tap52384 - I didn't mention Sysprep because I didn't want to go into how to create your base image. There are many different methods to create the base image, some will use sysprep some will not it all depends upon what you want to do. that is why in the requirements we have "system configured as desired and ready for image capture"
  5. do they have Vista drivers? Since PE 2 is based on vista it may not be liking the XP drivers.
  6. Sorry, misread. SOunded like you were using the demo version of vmware workstation, not VPC. And that it was expiring in a month not MCE locking you out in a month for not activating.
  7. I assume you do not have subfolders under c:\drivers. Otherwise they are not being looked at unless you have another process updating the INF or the registry with the subfolders. OemPnPDriversPath=Drivers sysprep setting does not look recursively through the directory only at the folder(s) specified.
  8. did you instal kb888111 to your image before sysprep?
  9. sounds like you need to recreate your winPE image then edit it as needed.
  10. You make a Win PE 20 DVD and use ImageX to deploy the image from the DVD, external drive, netwrok etc. set the link in my previous post for a guide.
  11. oscdimg will make cd and dvd images. check this out. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=101383
  12. No, this is not an install method but an imaging method.
  13. I wrote up this tutorial for my coworkers but my boss is reluctant to let me give it out. He's afraid i will create too much additional support work for me. So rather than let it collect dust on my hard drive I thought I would at least post it here for everyone else's reading pleasure. If you have additions, changes, find errors, etc. let me know and I'll update as appropriate and give credit where due. Also, this does not have anything to do with WDS directly; though I'm sure that some of the processes described in the document may apply. 14. is your winxp.wim an install image or a image of an installed XP os?
  15. Sorry, didn't see it over there. I'll send you the latest BETA when I get home, don't have it with me right now.
  16. Double-driver will extract them from an installed machine, or at least get's about 98% of what you need, it misses some files of some drivers. I developed one that is here to do the same thing http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...st&p=568879 I'm still rewriting it but this version gets a slightly cleaner collection of what you need, but they still have to be installed. What happens when you run the EXE does it launch a setup program or extract them to a folder on the drive? Can you post the url to the file you downloaded then we might be able to tell you exactly what you need to do.
  17. 39 that's it? A clean non updated install of XP SP2 gives you 80+. What's the complaint? Get VMWare server it does pretty much everything that workstation does and it's free. http://www.vmware.com/products/free_virtualization.html
  18. Changed topic title to better reflect request.
  19. If you were to install windows xp from a standard cd and have to press F6 to install the mass storage drivers so that you can install windows on your SATA/SCSI drive you want to install the drivers as textmode drives. If you do not need to press F6 you only need to install them as PNP drivers.
  20. I believe it should go something like (this will not work in XP, Xp does not support mirroring, assuming 2003 then): Select disk 0 create volume simple size=20 select volume 1 add disk 1 select disk 0 create volume simple select volume 2 extend disk 1 select disk 2 create volume simple select volume 1 add disk 3 Add format and drive letter additions as needed, convert to dynamic if desired and select a volume to be active for booting. I don't have a machine I can test this on at the moment but that should do what you want.
  21. could be mass storage controllers though normally you will get a BSOD for that. Check the apisetup.log file in the windows directory of the problematic machine and see if there are any errors there that might shed light on the issue.
  22. If you use the textmode folder the driver file names need to be different with the exception of txtsetup.oem. You will need to merge the appropriate sections of the two txtsetup.oem files together and create a single MASTER tstsetup.oem file with all of the information for both cards. Or use another method to integrate the text mode mass storage drivers: http://unattended.msfn.org/unattended.xp/view/web/36/
  23. http://forums.hostrocket.com/showthread.php?t=21818 supposedly works for the AC-211 For some reason I don't think we will see any money, and I'm sure as heck not giving the gizmo back if I don't so I think it's fair to keep it an use it for my new provider. I see a few class action lawsuit coming up in the future. Not that they will get anything but they will happen anyhow.
  24. I may as well post them here since I can't get access for five days to post on the sunrocket or viatalk forums. I have successfully configured my SunRocket Innomedia MTA6328-2Re for use with ViaTalk. Thought I would pass the info along. Connect your computer to the LAn port on the device. Log into your device via http://MTAIP/Voice_adminPage.htm Where MTAIP is the configured IP address of the gizmo, 192.168.251.1 by default. If you hit the reset button, login is admin pswd: slapshot Click on IP Network Click on Provisioning Setting Uncheck Enable Provisioning Click Save & Reboot Login again to http://MTAIP/Voice_adminPage.htm Click Management Click Administrator and set a new administrator ID & password Click Update Click Management Click End User and set a new User ID and Password Click Update Click VoIP Click SIP Proxy SIP Proxy = server name ( chicago-1.vtnoc.net in my case) Uncheck Use OutBound Proxy SIP Local Signaling Port = 5061 SIP Domain = vtnoc.net Registration Expiration Time (sec.) = 60 default codecs: (i have them in this order, the first one being the best sound quality I heard during testing to the worst) G726-32/8000 g728/8000 g729/8000 pcmu/8000 pcma/8000 Click Save Click OK Click User Account Line No. - 1 User ID = Phone number User password = Password provided for soft phone User name = phone number Authentication id = phone number use hot phone = no And I left Enable T38 fax = no click save click OK There are additional settings you can access via telnet but I did not have to change any of them to get it to work.
  25. Hey TAiN - you can go with the BYOD with via talk and reconfigure your gizmo from SR. I just switched and am using the innomedia from SR for viatalk. My VOIP is ack up and running again in less than 20 hours. And 21 months for the price of 12.
