  1. Get the updates from this list: download all updates, and use a script to install them.
  2. yeah That the Design Team consumes LSD is obvious because of the ugly colors of the metro fullscreen thing and the gray Explorer after the "trip" is over and the depression starts. But what is he consuming? We should start a poll "Which drugs do the "Destroying Windows Team" consume during their task of damaging Windows?
  3. MSFT is insane. They really think they sell 400 million Windows8 devices until July 1st 2013: Microsoft: 400 Million+ Windows 8 Devices in 9 Months http://www.winsupersite.com/article/paul-thurrotts-wininfo/microsoft-400-million-windows-8-devices-9-months-100000-apps-90-days-144446    Which drugs do the Managers at MSFT consume to have such unrealistic expectations?
  4. why download one by one? Let Windows Update install them for you. Update Packs are only useful if you want to install the updates to several machines and you have limited internet connection.
  5. Restoring the network connections takes 125s and causes the long delay: So don't restore network connections all the time. Map them later via a CMD script with NET USE /PERSISTENT: NO
  6. Simply use Windows Update to get all required updates. Some of the update packs contain hotfixes which should be only installed if you have the specific issue.
  7. make a new trace if you think you have issues.
  8. I thin think this is a hardware issue with your laptop. This site also mentions issues with the silent mode (look at the DPC checker tool picture) and CPU throttling: http://www.notebookcheck.com/Test-Update-Samsung-Serie-7-700Z3C-S01-Notebook.77437.0.html Contact the Samsung support in this case.
  9. which motherboard do you use? Does it support Memory remapping? is this enabled in the BIOS? Have you used MSconfig to limit the max usable RAM?
  10. yes you need your old XP licenses.
  11. You can use UniversalExtractor to extract the MSI: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5749744/xperf/WPTx86-x86_en-us.msi
  12. ok, press Fn + F11 to toogle the "Silent mode" does this make a difference?
  13. The simplest solution is to run a Windows XP VM.
  14. I need the ETL file to see why WinLogonInit is slow. Compress it as 7z or RAR and upload it to your SkyDrive or Dropbox.
  15. Yes, this is so annoying. An epileptic can't install Windows 8. The box should include a warning about this crap! You can use DISM.exe to install NetFx3 offline with the help of the ISO.
  16. clean the CPU cooler. Also which laptop do you use? Try to update the BIOS and see if you can change the cooler policy so that the cooler fan runs more often to cool down the CPU more.
  17. yes ACPi.sys casues a lot of CPU usage and latency spikes, but also NDIS.sys causes spikes: So try to disable all 3rd party network tools like Comodo. The ACPI issues may be caused by overheating issues. Check the CPU temperature of your Intel i5-3210M CPU, please.
  18. Microsoft's HUGE mistake that could sink its eco-system
  19. this happens because of the included Flash player that why you should remove it.
  20. do this and this time compress the ETL file and upload it. this is ok. DPCs and interrupts are used by the system all the time so the values are ok.
  21. which issue do you have? The largest spikes are between 256 µsecs AND 512 µsecs. really? Make a new trace which captures this.
  22. sorry, I have no idea. Ask this in the XP forum because I haven't used XP since Vista Beta2 any longer.
  23. Go to C:\Windows and apply the currently permissions to all subfolder so that the folder C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET gets the correct inherited permissions from C:\Windows
