Trace Windows 7 boot/shutdown/hibernate/standby/resume issues
MagicAndre1981 replied to MagicAndre1981's topic in Windows 7
some are fast. For example in trace2 and3 your Windows shuts down in 19s. And in trace4 it is slow again. Trace 5 is fast again (19s). Shutdown 6 and 7 are the fastest with only 4s. 8 is slow agaion and 9 is fast. What have you done that it is different?- 1,284 replies

Nice improvements. But the preview of the startmenu is limited to 4 themes. If you have more installed, you can see them in the preview.

yes, you read the file correctly. Windows thinks it is only 10s. Update the BIOS. Maybe this helps.- 1,284 replies

Trace Windows 7 boot/shutdown/hibernate/standby/resume issues
MagicAndre1981 replied to MagicAndre1981's topic in Windows 7
the HDD is still busy all the time. remember you have a green HDD, which is extremely slow (look at the access time, not the linear transfer speed) and should be only used for storing data. Also, the AMD Fuel and the File Sharing Service (Lanmanager) take some time to start.- 1,284 replies

your slow Seagate Barracuda Green 5900.3 is the cause of the terrible slow boot. it runs in Multi-Word DMA Mode 2 and not in Ultra DMA. Try to enable AHCI in the BIOS. Also try a different cable, maybe yours has issues which causes the fallback to multiword DMA- 1,284 replies

How deep can you change the layout of the startmenu? I have a request. When you search for data/programs, the width is increased and the common entries like Run, Help, Documents are hidden. Can you also implement this when clicking on "All programs"?

OSlaoder is now fast 2.8s. But the DISK is still totally busy during boot: Your Toshiba MK6476GSX 640 GB is simply too slow, because it is only a 5400rpm drive. Disable Defender and reduce the amount of tools you run all the time to relieve the pressure from the HDD.

loading the OS loader takes a long time: osLoaderDuration="111788" 111s is very long. This should only take 2s. Your HDD is also extremely busy all the time. Make sure you run the HDD in AHCI mode.

upload it to Skydrive, dropbox or a fast 1 click hoster like zippyshare.com/mediafire.com or rapidshare.com and send me the link via PM
