  1. Hi Chris, good news, the boot is now faster. Your Windows boots completely in 40 seconds and the prefetcher is working better. That's an improvement of 20 seconds. Now you can enjoy your faster Windows. André
  2. Hi Chris, the boot is 5 seconds slower. The prefetcher has several misses. Did you run the optimization again?
  3. yes, look under Logon and disable the automatic startup of the Live Messenger.
  4. update for Vista and 7 are language independent. You can install them on any language.
  5. Hi Chris, your Windows boots in 30s to the desktop and is fully booted in 61 seconds. What I see is that the PostBoot Takes 30s. This means the tools which run at login (startup) are slowing down your System. I can see that you have Norton AntiVirus (NAV, ccsvchst.exe (1764), 0x00000043, Running) installed. This service hangs and causes a huge IO activity. I hate the yellow pest. You should use other freeware tools like Avira AntiVir (http://www.free-av.com/en/index.html) or Microsoft Security Essentials. Next, run AutoRuns (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902.aspx) and disable all not needed tools (Live Messenger, iTunes, iPod). only start them when you need them. After doing this run the optimization again. André
  6. are you using the latest BIOS? Write a mail to the support if you have the latest BIOS version
  7. use the Performance Monitor and add the ReadyBoost-Cache. Now you can see how many bytes are used.
  8. where do I have to put my own drivers (ATI graphics, AHCI, network (WLAN)) so that they are integrated?
  9. yes, the tool wakes up the again. Which ASRock board do you have?
  10. Ok, the cause is the resume of the devices: - <device start="714224072" duration="118183136" name="ACPI_HAL\PNP0C08\0"> <driver start="714224076" duration="118183128" name="\Driver\ACPI" /> <driver start="832407205" duration="1" name="\Driver\ACPI_HAL" /> </device> in your case the ACPI device. Have you install the latest ATI/AMD drivers for your mainboard?
  11. I deleted 1 conversation. Now you can send it
  12. temporarily disable SSDP and UPnP and check if everything works fie
  13. but it is! I can now see, that you have 2 hanging services: AudiEndpointMapper and TermService. So update the Via sound drivers, please. Next, the automatisc startup all the applications causes the slowdown. The trace was not able to capture all data, so remove all unneeded startup tools. use AutoRuns to disable them. André
  14. The ssdpsrv.dll (SSDP Service ) now uses most of your CPU time and causes a delay and a huge HDD IO activity in the WinLogOnInit Phase. Do you use devices which depends on SSDP or UPnP?
  15. Hi, n your case the ExplorerInit phase takes most time. What I can see, is that the Prefetcher is not working correctly. Run the optimization, I shown here please: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=140262 If it's still not faster, make a new trace.
  16. does it also happen without the USB web cam? Have you installed the latest Intel mainboard drivers?
  17. The issue is the IppTimeout function from the TCPIP.sys. This causes in both cases some spikes. But without the network/sptd driver the CPU usage is ok. So you should update Alcohol and the VPN software. Also Winamp causes a high regular CPU usage.
  18. Hi, the USBPort driver is the cause of the DPC usage. Does it happen when you disconnect the USB SD card readers and your external USB HDD? The Interrupt spikes come from the keyboard PS2 driver.
  19. my 7 boots in 20s (HDD, no SSD) and resumes from Hibernation in 8s. The 2k doesn't support the modern power saving features (Q&C and Core parking from the Intel i series). You stay at a OS which is technology from 1997 (started as NT5.0). This doesn't make up any real sense. But do want you want, but don't wonder when nothings works.
  20. could please upload the trace file and send me the link?
  21. make a new trace ad upload the new trace please
  22. 1 more useless tool which improves nothing. The only suitable tool is the included tool in Windows. This brings a great boost when performing the boot optimization: I don't understand why people think, that if tools displays something that is is better compared to the build-in tool. The build-in tool runs when the PC is idle and this is enough. All those tools are useless snake-oil. my 2ct
  23. do you mean this C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository ?
