  1. there is one It is called Windows Performance Toolkit. make sure you have the service Superfetch running and next try to speed up the boot with the help of my guide: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=140262 forget this "tweak". Windows always use all cores.
  2. Have you installed the latest drivers for your mainboard? Also try this hotfix: A hotfix rollup that improves the reliability and the performance of an Advanced Format disk with a 4KB physical sector size on a computer that is running Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 is available
  3. why don't you simply install Sp1 and Sp2?
  4. @Photek this option is not recommend. IS your boot slow? If yes, make a boot trace: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=140247
  5. when you select activate online during setup or install the Enterprise Edition you only get 3 days to activate the Windows.
  6. you mean the time when Windows force the services/programs to close. Till Vista it was 20 seconds, starting with Windows 7 it is now 12 seconds.
  7. can you give me a link? If your Windows is slow to shutdown, follow my guide to make a shutdown trace and compress the shutdown_BASE+CSWITCH+DRIVERS+POWER_1.etl as 7z or RAR upload and post the link here.
  8. You can also use the "Windows System State Analyzer" to monitor changes (files/registry).
  9. but only for English Windows 7. Btw, use the /X:<path> switch to extract the IE9 installer to get the MSU files.
  10. no, Direct2D/WDDM are unavailable on XP.
  11. delete the last comments about the warez version Or do you want a ban? Use the MSDNAA version and be happy.
  12. Hi Ron, the trace says, your Windows needs 21 seconds to shutdown: shutting down the all running programs take 9 seconds. shutting down the all services takes 6 seconds (tomcat and services.exe take a longer time) the rest of the time is shutting down Windows itself. André
  13. looks like warez, which is not allowed here to talk about
  14. the pending.xml shows that the DE-MUI things need to be configured during setup. hmm, how is the WIM created? blank Windows 7 without any MUIs ad then the MUI added offline?
  15. I don't understand why updates can be pending for Offline images. Why can this be?
  16. do they know about this issue?
  17. I know. But this still doesn't answer why the servicing thinks updates are pending when integrating into an OFFLINE image. So no files are in use which cause the pending state. This is the cause of this Sp slipstream dilemma.
  18. booting from VHD is like normal native Windows 7/Server2008R2. The only different is, that the data are not stored on a partition. They are stored inside the VHD.
  19. The fully configured image can be created by your own. Simply follow the reverse guide for Vista Sp1/Sp2. This creates fully configured images. MS has an automated way to do this.
  20. the point is, why does the ST thinks updates into an offline image can be pending? This is the cause of the Sp slipstream issue. An update can be only pending, when hardlinks can be updates when they are in use. The Slipstreaming works fine, when you have an fully configured image from MS.
  21. The servicing stack (trustedinstaler) comes out of order when integrating a Sp1:
  22. Like I've explained, an SP (level N) can ONLY be integrated in a fully configured DVD with N-1 Level. So for Sp1 it works, but with Sp2 it would fail That's why MS disabled it.
  23. look at the pictures. Why is the RTLite topic on 2 pages? Any ideas?
  24. Get the Alpha 8 from here: http://www.coderforlife.com/projects/win7boot/
