  1. Have you installed the MSI? Is the WPT folder added to the PATH Environment variable?
  2. I've installed the 256 a fewdays ago. it is part of the WSUS Update which is available in the Downloadcenter.
  3. ok, yes a damaged ISO can cause this. Nice to hear that it is fixed now.
  4. simply subscribe to the KB feed of the product you're interested. Now you see all news about new updates and other useful information MS publishes as KB articles.
  5. yes, this tool is better. I've linked it in my DPC tutorial.
  6. Ive checked this by looking at the explorer.exe and shell32.dll. The same applies to Win8. In Win8 the code for the Win Vista/7 Startmenu is also removed.
  7. this is done already. VS2010 can compile SSE2 (that's why Win8 requires SSE2 compatible CPU) and VS2012 adds GPU ciding : AMP C++ That's definitely not what I'd personally call a step back. CoffeeFiend, This illustrates well why user choice is so important. yes, I personally like the Win7 taskbar. This is the onyl real good improvement in Windows 7. So everyone has his personal tastes and so choice is very important. yes, this is the typical Sinofsky arrogance. It makes no sense to discuss which him. Simple solution is DON'T BUY/use Windows 8 and show him this way that he is not the middle point of the universe and forcing users to like what he likes is wrong.
  8. You have issues with loading the drivers at first stage of boot (PreSMSS - read the first post to understand what this means). This takes 45s in your case: <interval name="PreSMSS" startTime="0" endTime="45375" duration="45375"> The Microsoft-Windows-VolumeSnapshot-Driver seems to take nearly 30s to start. I see you use an OCZ-AGILITY3 with firmware 2.12. The latets version is v2.22. So update the frmware and look if this has an impact. Also do you run your SSD in IDE or AHCI mode? And to which port have you connected it? To the Marvell 91xx SATA 6G Controller or to the Ports of your chipset? Try to fix this and it should fix the delays.
  9. How do you connect to the internet? Do you really need RASPPPoE? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RASPPPoE http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Point-to-Point_Protocol_over_Ethernet
  10. I can't see DPC spikes in the Z version. in the z1, the is 1 small TCPIP.sys spike. Which power plan do you use in Windows? I can see some PPM calls from the kernel and this indicates Power saving calls are done.
  11. You have ACPI.sys DPC issues. This often indicates CPU temperature issues. Update the BIOS, clean the CPU cooler from dust, reset the Windows powerplan options. Does this help?
  12. Maybe the Embedded makes it possible. In the CTP1 the dependency resolving was broken and I was unable to install it.
  13. no, this tool is so old. User here often upload xperf traces and the DPC checker driver itself causes high DPC latencies. This tool is made for XP nearly 10 years ago.
  14. no, code removed = no GPO can reactivate it.
  15. According to the ASUS Website: NO http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3/M4A78LTM_LE/#CPUS The highest CPU is the Phenom IIX6 1045T(HDT45TWFK6DGR),2.7GHz,95W,rev.E0,SocketAM3,6-Core Why do you want to upgrade? Which CPU do you currently use and what are you doing most of the time with your PC? Do you play games or encode videos?
  16. copy the DPC_Interrupt.etl to a fodler where you have writing permissions like the desktop or your document folder. Now that you have the smaller zip upload it to Dropbox and post a link here.
  17. 1:0 against Portugal. Good start to the European Football Championship but we must play much better in the next games against Netherlands and Denmark

why its not called non-usa-football ?

because only European teams are allowed to play here. So Brasil, Argentina, North America and Asia is out. In 2014 they are onboard at the newt world championship tournament.

Thought about you when I heard the news yesterday.

  18. that is Sinofsky and no one else. He likes it so now all 1 Billion Windows users have to like it This is what I don't like. See NOD32 for example. By default they show a simply UI with a small amount of options to not overcharge the average users. But if I want I can change the view to an advanced and now I get all control options I need. All users are happy. This is great UX and not the bul***** Sinofsky does It shows that DevDiv actually listens to users and paying customers. Nobody wanted the old depressing everything-looks-the-same monochrome theme so they gave in on that. All-caps-everything is ridiculous, so they're adding a setting to disable it at least. Yes, we have to be pretty loud before it actually happens, but we're getting positive results on most of the big issues. If enough people complain, they do something about it. yes, with Dev10 (VS2010) a lot of users complained about the blurry font and they tweaked it so that it is now ok to use. But Windows with Sinofsky is the opposite: "f*** you customers, we (MSFT) are gods and you stupid normal users have to praise us and use what we (MSFT) think is the best." :realmad: :realmad:
  19. I know this site for a while. There also was a Blog which listed new hotfixes: http://blogs.technet.com/b/hot/default.aspx?PageIndex=2 but it looks like the user switched to to Office 365 Team and now only blogs about Office and Cloud
  20. this is also a cheap NIC and it is only 100MBit. If you need GBit you should use a card like this one: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833106033 This card is better and can process the DPCs on the chip to reduce the CPU load. the kernel.etl is useless. Run this command: xperf -on latency -stackwalk profile -Buffersize 1024 -MaxFile 256 -FileMode Circular && timeout -1 && xperf -d DPC_Interrupt.etl capture 30s and press key to stop logging. Now Compress the DPC_Interrupt.etl as 7z or RAR (this reduces the size a lot!!). Now upload them RAR/7z file.
  21. Try to install it and after it failed, go to C:\Windows\Logs, copy the DISM and CBS folders to your desktop, zip them and upload the zip (SkyDrive, Dropbox, Mediafire.com, Zippyshare.com) and post a link here.
  22. @Anonymous101 upload the xperf trace file and I'll take a look at it.
  23. yes, Win8 is faster. It is what I've expected from Windows 7. But the fasted OS is useless if it has an unusable UI like Windows 8 has.
  24. Now MS announced that there will be an Edition of Visual Express where you can code desktop applications: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/visualstudio/archive/2012/06/08/visual-studio-express-2012-for-windows-desktop.aspx
  25. still the same: Every time you have the DPC issues, Punkbuster has some cpu usage. Try to update it. Does this fix it?
