  1. No he means neptune...
  2. OK that could very well be. But in a seriousness would a 32 core\4gig system even really run?
  3. I fully agree there and the plan MS HAD was to release a patch that woule remove the whole activation\genuine schema when they stopped selling XP. (They never expected to keep activation servers going forever) It is more of their planned obsolesence schema now. (We will suppport it, but you can't get the downloads mwhahahahhahahaha)
  4. 2+ posts directly in a row is also spamming... There was NO need for that (Other than to build your post count) If they made service packs feature packs they would go out of business quicker. You paid $99 - $199 for your XP home. and you have used it for a LOOOONG time. What else has MS gotten from you for the support they have given it? They would make little to no money that way... Plus without MAJOR changes (Things that would denote a whole new OS essentially) there is no way the programming could keep up with hardware. Just look at the max ram and cores each OS could handle when they came out. Please by all means use your XP home on a new era multi core comp: Maximum: 1 Physical CPU (Multi-Core + Hyper-threading supported) 4 GB of RAM 4 GB of Virtual Memory 4 GB FAT16 Partition 32 GB FAT32 Partition (Formatted during Setup) 2 TB FAT32 Partition 2 TB NTFS Partition (Basic Volume) 2 GB FAT16 File Size 4 GB FAT32 File Size 2 TB NTFS File Size (Basic Volume) * > 137 GB Hard Disks require SP1 or higher (48-bit LBA-compatible BIOS Required) XP home cannot address even the full 4gigs ram... See nearly any HONEST Windows 8 thread and article to figure out how the new heads of MS are full of themselves. The vast majority of people that have tried Win8 or even looked into it have expressed major concerns about allot of problems. The heads of MS in their infinite wisdom and since they clearly know what we want and need have decided all of this sh*t... I.e. the major couple: Smart screen filter (Not easy to disable) sends user statistics to MS (Read spy ware) as to what you download and install. NO DVD\BRD optical drive support without spending extra dough. Extremely difficult to use without touch screens out of the box. Here is a huge list of MS (We know better so you don't need this) UN-features in Win8:
  5. OK lemme see. You paid $150-ish dollars for your xp home when it came out. The after 11 years of support and server costs you EXPECT MS to keep it up? You have had $14 a year worth of XP goodness. Get over it...
  6. SERIOUSLY??? Service packs (With the exception of XP sp2) have NEVER been about that... Why would they do that? It is a SERVICE PACK not a FEATURE PACK.... Service packs, by definition, are service packs, If they did what you say they are supposed to then there would be no need for new OS's... You seem almost as full of yourself as the new heads of MS. p.s. there is a EDIT button. what you are doing is spamming.....
  7. Arabic hasn't been properly translated in 5 years....
  8. The reason why I felt you were using it in a business setting: The quoted section is from you. (You are REALLY up in arms about network support.) You HAVE so many different options for the same thing in your config file. (3+ versions of vlc and winamp???) You are very damanding about things and issues I have NO clue you are having. You say you have issues running WPI from a network, then you say you cannot upgrade your WPI (Without mentioning you are starting from several versions back) IF you are having a issue then tell me exactly what the issue is. i.e. Error message, when WPI is ran, HOW wpi is started, windows version, ie version, provide config files, what you thought it would do anything else that will help. Otherwise I will start ignoring ANY posts you make and urge others to do so... New versions of WPI will NOT support networks AT ALL without proper permissions\unlocking. See: http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/158770-important-news-regarding-wpi-licensing/
  9. I am debating fixing the one remaining bug I can in WPI and stopping development for the foreseeable future (Maybe longer) I will keep the site and stay active in the forum so that I can retain control of distribution and everything, I am just not getting support. I would like to thank the 6 people that hove donated to WPI in the last 6 months. Starting from June 15th when mritter sent me $16 I have received $111 dollars. (That's accounting for well over 100,00 downloads of WPI from wpiw.net.) It is also distributed by many sites like cnet, filecluster, softpedia and majorgeeks. I am sorry guys I just had my 39th birthday on the 8th and my youngest turned 18 on the 19th of Nov. Finding the will to keep plugging away for not even enough for Pepsi when my pc overheats and bsods all the time (Plus I have some major i/o transfer issue with my mobo, I cant use usb thumb drives or dvd drives data transfer errors all the time) EDIT: If you send through paypal as a gift to kelsenellenelvian@gmail.com (My paypal address) neither of us will incur any charges. Also ad a note as it is for WPI please.
  10. There is NO legal place to download a XP iso. Amazon and ebay have plenty though.
  11. Sorry, but no. The uninstall feature was removed by the original creator. This is why its stated in the readme to backup. This is why people should read before continuing. Im sorry for your troubles. Im crying right now PLEASE TELL ME THERES A WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! MAYBE you should have read the instructions.... Aaaaaaand I QUOTE:
  12. Please be aware WPI is not free for business uses.
  13. Also from reading your posts remember WPI is not free for business uses.
  14. There are some features that were rendered useless by updates or found redundant. These have\had been removed and are mentioned in the changelog. *** Fixed getArch6432 and getmshtaBits don't work. -- They were removed as they did not work properly *** Removed Tool tip position: Float ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ People still have a mix of x86 and x64 software and are running into issues with installing the proper architecture version. Now in Config Wizard -> menu -> Other there is a new Architecture item. Instead of creating two entries for each program with conditions to hide it depending on x86 or x64, do it this way as a shortcut: When adding items in the Config Wizard, if needed, double the entries for the install program: {x86} D:\MyProgram_x86.exe /s {x64} D:\MyProgram_x64.exe /s When start the installer and it comes to these entries, WPI will check the architecture bits (32 or 64) and either skip the entry or install it like normal. It will say Skipped when not on the right architecture. This is only needed if the install package doesn't have both versions in it and checks itself for which to use. This method will reduce the number of entries and not require any condition statements. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  15. Network paths are also mentioned in the changelog. (There is a ton of stuff buried in there) *** If WPI is started from a network share (\\share\folder) it will look for the mapped drive letter (if has one) and use it.
  16. ^ There is the thread for translations. I have barely had all but a couple of the languages updated in a very long time. I have NO understanding of san-scrit and there is NO way I could translate it AT all to arabic...
  17. You bring up a valid point as there are a couple of areas I still have yet to fully flesh out in the manual. MOST of the things you posted are for file version comparisons and related things.
  18. Also you SPECIFICALLY mention upgrading from 8.6.2 NOT 8.1. That is a special case I COULD have helped you with.
  19. There is no " team " it's mainly just me. Yes there are a couple of members that have been posting mods. So all of the info I write here is useless? I am just supposed to answer everyone who cannot be bothered to read even the first couple of sentences of the first post in a release thread? My crystal ball has been broken for quite some time. Your post mentioned nothing of the issues you were having in details that would actually show you were doing more than just complaining. I guess I can now delete the manual to? Hey that's all just useless, wasted effort then, right?
  20. SERIOUSLY??? Come on guys:
  21. Yes the feature is broken. Will look into it.
  22. ALSO DID YOU read the contents of the first post of this thread??? Sheesh...
  23. What is this? Beta? I can only download 8.6.2 on the site... How do I update from 8.6.2? Just copying over this time? Also network paths will ever be supported? Few notes on your post: Things go this way now. New releases are ONLY posted here and in the "Update" feature in WPI. After a few days I then updtae the site to reflect this. (Prevents minor release for quick fixes) Network paths are FULLY supported. It all relies on HOW you start WPI. (If by script you MUST use the start /wait wpi.exe format... How do I update? RTM, RTM, RTM....
  24. Neither does a a smallish (say 1024 - 1gb) partition set at the same max,min.... Plus IF there is ever a reason for it then it will be there.
