I have a project on the drawing board and I really need to know how to create a type1 or type2 windows hotfix. I have seen a couple of custom ones floating around the baord but I cannot figure out how to do it. So how do I make them?

As much as I want to say a very rude comment here Panarchy you probably did something very wrong to your system. This pack has been used by ALOT of others and no-one has experienced that certain issue. Plus that is definatly NOT the way to report a bug or an issue...

I go wmp11, rvm update pack and then ie7... then all my addons. Booogy suggested his be done first and ryans has some ie6 stuff in it so I do IE7 after that and always XPize last. Boooogy's pack has yet to fail me. I don't think jcarles does updates either.

Its only wasting space if you have a corp version of windows!!! You will eventually get locked out of your windows when the time runs out I think it is 30 days...

.net framework 2 cannot normally be installed at that stage of setup. You need to get one of the many packages out there that has been modified to make it do so. The error on the 3rd screen is most likely due to the error from the first screen.
