  1. TugZip is pretty good. But Don't make addons with tugzip... It really pi$$es the integrator off.
  2. Actually what I do is I have a winrar archive with an already pre-cleaned XP set of files in it. (I removed the Lang folder, all update folders and all external folders from the archive and pre-merged the driver cabs) So all thats really in there is the CD ident files and the bare I386 folder. When I compressed it I used the "Store" option for the compression ratio so all it does is basically just package the files. (386 megs packed up) Takes like 30 seconds now to uncompress, on my older machine it took like 1-1.3 minutes to uncompress. MUCH less time then actually copying the files, you just select "Extract here" and wait for a minute.
  3. Those are CORE setup files, hence why they are uncompressed. (Thatss what the .ex_ means) I have gotten this issue lately too all you need to do is make that file all in CAPITOLS even the extension. Setup will then find it.
  4. Hmmmm I hate to disagree with you but nLite and vLite are excellent apps. Especially for what they are made for. However I stopped using them to remove stuff long ago (Not falling into that cycle again ) For making, adding to and modifying disks they are excellent. All you looking for with a public post like this is a lot of flaming...
  5. Only if you have the proper SATA drivers for XP that go with the laptop.
  6. Do you have a domain? (Web address) And do you have acces to a server?
  7. Actually I just picked the one from XP sp3 pro and I use it in a couple of my addons for win 2000.
  8. Ummm HELLO!?!?! Theses reuslts are without the extreme switch
  9. Hmm sounds to me one of your ram chips has given up the ghost. (Died) You are lucky you can even boot.
  10. OK then if you bought it from the store take out the manual or the CD that came with it and put the CD in then run it to install the mp4 players drivers... Other than that look under the battery cover and everywhere else for a name!!! We CANNOT get you drivers\app without the actual brand. Or go to a friends house that has Vista and try formatting it through there, Vista has way better compatability with external devices like that.
  11. HOLY COW = Vista Home Basic SP1 with EVERYTHING removed is now down to 422.5megs Thats even without using the -extreme switch... Edit = Vista Ultimate SP1 is 424 megs with everything stripped out You are really missing a step somewhere bud!
  12. Kaspersky Internet security 8.0.0.357 OK what OS are you using? Looks like XP. What is the BRAND of mp4(??) player? XP doesn't have native support for mp3 players let alone a mp4 player (never heard of one of those) You most likely need to download and use the app\drivers that belong to your device.

  14. It would be like so: cd e: then you get the cmd prompt changed to your cd dir then input this e:\win98\setup.exe And pfwoom you should be off and running...
  15. Well legality aside (Technically it is still illegal) you have these options. 1 = Use his disk, SP1 will not install after almost ANY vLite-ing has been done, and you have to pray his disk is the same version as yours (OEM, Retail or VLK) 2 = Call your pc maker. They are "Usually" very happy to provide you with proper reinstall media for a very discounted price (I have seen as low as 20 bucks)
  16. Sorry but with the way XP installs it is very nearly impossible... It would take manually editing a lot of files and thousands of lines of text so that the install "read" and looked for the second cd during install. However their is better news for you you just need to change your install method to use cdswitch or a install manager like WPI, wihu or XPlode to install your apps. Its not that hard to switch, especially if you used ALOT of silent installers....
  17. I can't say much about the 3rd party apps, BUT I simply like these patchers! Couple of things I noticed: Pink pack is a little too purplish. Might want to call it purple pack Is there any install switches? I would LOVE to be able to patch pre-installation or silently POST installation. All in all SUPER PACKS!!! Thank you very much!
  18. I haven't seen any. You would however need seperate ones for sp2 and sp3 the differ quite a bit. Wait look at this here = http://www.msfn.org/board/ReleaseVista-Liv...11-t119881.html The grey edition "Might" suit your needs. Simply install in a virtual enviroment and grab the 2 files if your satisfied, madifyPE and makecab them then overwrite the originals in you i386 folder.
  19. You are so very wrong there... ATI cards may be nice but the control center sucks and is VERY resource hungry. nVidia cards may have had their issues recently, However their controls\control panel are VERY superior in the controlling of color and quality settings.

  21. Checked/Debug Build <<---- You grabbed the debug version not the standard version m8.
  22. yes one of the ones you made that does not work in WPI...
  23. show me an example of what you have built please...
  24. Maybe we can get dje to help out on it... http://www.msfn.org/board/WPI-on-drugs-t76...ml&hl=drugs He has achieved something similiar but it seems HORRIBLY complicated for the end user.
  25. Its been touched on before and as of yet we have not really gotten into it. NOTHING however is impossible, we just haven't really gotten into working on it that much. Hell I remember when the category checkbox was thought near impossible Be assured that it is on our todo list though.
