It will not restart now instead it will blue-screen and from that blue-screen you can often get information on what file is the root cause of the instability.

That definitely helps, i know mIRC very well and the only option i wasn't familiar with and never got round to finding out what its purpose was is DDE so after installation for the first time since using mIRC i decided to disable it and see what the affects would be, now i know Thanks a lot m8.

Are you overclocking and have you disabled auto-reboot that way you can get more information on why it's doing it.

No i haven't actually, could you be more specific? i.e. where do i get it can't really search in much detail with what you've given me not that i don't appreciate it.

I've installed MSN6 several times and each time i come across this problem, once you sign in it hangs and doesn't respond for approximately 15 seconds and then works as normal i'm sure i'm not the only one as i searched using google and found many similar cases but unfortunately no solutions, any ideas?

When i click an IRC link in IE i receive this message "Windows cannot find irc://irc.whatever.org. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. Make sure the address is correct, and then try again." mIRC the IRC application i'm using does start itself but doesn't work as it has done in the past where by it shows 3 connection options and once you've chosen one you auto-connect and join the room named in the link. I've just installed my unattended copy of XP for the first time (without virtual pc) and was pretty certain that the registry tweaks would work, the line to execute them was at the end of my batch file just before the auto-shutdown code. The only thing i can think of that may have caused them not to install was the fact the folder the tweaks.reg file was in had spaces in its name (INSTALL\REGISTRY TWEAKS) could that be the cause? If so i've removed the spaces in the folder name now changing it to REGTWEAKS do you think this will solve the problem? I've included my batch file so whoever wants to can look over it just incase. Just need a quick yes or no, i made my winnt.sif so it auto-logged into the admin account ONCE after installation to allow the user to set a password but i've realised that all my registry tweaks will be applied to the admin account so now i have to prevent it doing that... rather than create an entire new winnt.sif and lose all the things i've changed in it do i simply change the below: [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=NO AutoLogon=Yes AutoLogonCount=1 OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=85 OemSkipWelcome=1 To: [GuiUnattended] AdminPassword=* EncryptedAdminPassword=NO AutoLogon=No AutoLogonCount=0 OEMSkipRegional=1 TimeZone=85 OemSkipWelcome=1 Will this still auto-logon the account i'll create after the main installation is complete?

I'm not sure how many of you have come across this but XP has a bug where it prevents you from renaming AVI files randomly claiming that the file is in use by another application, to stop it doing this you need to open up regedit and remove the following folder "InProcServer32" from this location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{87D62D94-71B3-4b9a-9489-5FE6850DC73E}\ Is there anyway this could be done automatically i mean could i add something to my regtweaks.reg file to take care of it if not other suggestions will be appreciated but be warned i'm very new to all this so no complication language and i didn't create my streamlined copy using the unattend site i read an alternative guide so there may be things you assume i know that i don't, thanks in advance i really appreciate it.

What about the Soundstorm panel thingy bob that wont install along with the audio drivers will it so how do you plan to install that without fresh installing the entire driver set?

I am making a streamlined copy of XP and installed Virtual PC so i didn't have to re-install windows xp everytime i wanted to test something i'd added. I created an ISO with WinISO loading the boot.bin file so it would be a bootable CD/ISO. I then loaded my VPC selected "Capture Image" from the CD menu, but it would not boot from the ISO giving me the error "CDBOOT: Cannot boot from CD - Code: 4", am i creating the ISO wrong or doing something wrong in VPC? I searched the forums and found someone with a similar problem although the suggested solution did not work, please Help.

That's great if you've got a couple of favourites but i've got in the region of 100 probably more so adding them one by one would be quite tedious :|
