I've installed MSN6 several times and each time i come across this problem, once you sign in it hangs and doesn't respond for approximately 15 seconds and then works as normal i'm sure i'm not the only one as i searched using google and found many similar cases but unfortunately no solutions, any ideas?

have u installed the DirectX\msn messenger patch as it was found it causes lock ups?

No i haven't actually, could you be more specific? i.e. where do i get it can't really search in much detail with what you've given me not that i don't appreciate it.
