  1. ummm. can you please translate that. I have no idea what you are saying. Thnx! --edit-- This is not a chineese/korean/japaneese forum site. This is an english forum! English only!
  2. Hey gurgelmeyer. your PM box is full. I tried PM'ing you twice, and it says either I'm not allowed to give you PM's or your account inbox is completely full. Mine isn't full. But you should check your inbox, just to make sure, mate. Anyway, here is what winipcfg told me what my ip adress is: 192.168.1.100
  3. ok...this what I found so far on what is incompatible and somewhat compatible with the original Windows 95: 1) Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 (digital surround sound) sound card has a 8 out of 10 ratio that it will run without any problems, but some software the is included with it is not compatible with the original version , or 95A, but the full recommendation is Windows 96A (95B 2.1), and the minumum is the original 95 (Win3x needs to get a codec for the drivers, and not use the ones from CD, as they will be totally useless). The video card I'm assuming that it is OKAY. My motherboard is set to go, my ethernet card is set to go, my monitor needs drivers (but I will find 'em before installation). Other than that. I'm all set to go. Now...all I need is my step-bro's Win95 CD-ROM disk in order to install. Great. But anyway, if anyone has any ifo about my video card, and to locate it's drivers, much appreciated for help around this section. Thanks!
  4. If you like Windows 95 , and would like to know about running it on a (somewhat) high-end system, this is your topic. Basically I'm just a little curious if the original 95 could run my sound card, and would be compatible with my Pentium 3 One Gigahertz Processor and my 64 meg video card?. I found out that it can run my motherboard drivers, and video card 2x/4x patch, and can detect my video card with NVIDIA drivers for 95, but the question is...could a 1999 64 meg video card be compatible with the original 95, and my Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 Digital Surround Sound Card as well. On www.nvidia.com, this is what it said for my video card display status: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440-SE Fill Rate: 1.1 Billion Texels/Sec. Triangles per Second: 31 Million Memory Bandwidth: 5.3GB/Sec. Maximum Memory: 64MB Now this is the part that puzzles me...my video card on Windows 95 Original: Could anyone give me some info on this card, too see if I can run the original 95 on my P3 in my 2 gig drive specially for 95 original? And could my PIII 1 Gigahertz Processor run on it. And Vista is another problem. Here were talking about something that was created before my whole computer existed, my friend. But that is what for you to decide. If my computer could Install The original 95 (my step-bro, codyrocks2000 has the original 95 CD-ROM, an original copy, of course). Also...I may be thinking of doing a project not only for Windows Millenium Edition, but this one is for all of the 95's, including the original 95...to make Windows 95 look and feel like Windows XP, but as fast as Vista. Pretty wierd, huh? ...Anyway, that's basically what I have to say. Everyone needed! Thnx! --correction-- I have just found out that my SBLive! 5.1 Sound Card will work on the original 95, but will have some compatiblity issues with certain programsa, but will run barely without problems. So that's off of the hook. Good one less thing to worry about now!
  5. From what I've read from your post is that your drivers are somewhat incompatible with Vista. Try using Windows XP compatibility option. Maybe that might help. Hope I can be some use for you.
  6. These are the parts that make up my computer: - ASUS TUV4X Motherboard with P3 1000 Mghz Processor Chip - NVIDIA Geforce MX 440-SE (64 megabyte) - Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 (Digital Surround Sound) with two speakers and a subwoofer - 3Com EtherLink XL 10/100 PCI TX NIC (3C905B-TX) Ethernet Card - Maxtor 4D040H2 Hard Drive (40 Gig) - 10 megabyte router/modem with 12 set D-Link Hub (Can't remember the model id) - stick of 512 megs of ram @prathapml Thanks, man! I just might try out the beta. @biohead. Thanks for the info! You just convinced me to get the beta version immediatley ! If anyone can tell me if BETA 1 of Vista expires, that would be absolutley wonderful. Thank you all for helping me. I really appreciated it!
  7. dirt... I may have the solution to your problem: 1) You can get a boot disk right here, and burn it with Nero Express or Nero 6 Ultra Edition with the "Bootable CD" option, and Nero will intergrate the Me Boot-Disk to your new Bootable MSMillenium disk. 2) Or this might help a bit. I have a bootable OEM MSMillenium CD. (Actually...I have two of them. One has the bootable interface without the fixed precopy1.cab, and one that has the fixed precopy1.cab, without the bootable interface). Anyway if you can find a program that can strip the bootdisk off of the CD, send me the link and I'll send the boot-files to you from yousendit.com from my Bootable OEM MSMillenium CD. If I exatly find out how, dirt...I'll PM you and we can deal with it there.
  8. I've been reading up on Windows Vista for about a couple of weeks, but from what I've read on MSFN is Vista was supposed to run on contemorary high-speed machines. Would my Pentium 3 - 1 Gigahertz Processor compatible with it? Thnx! (P.S. I really want Windows Vista on my computer since it was "Codename Longhorn", but Longhorn was no-where near compatible with my comp, from what I've read.)
  9. @dirtwarior I found out the problem to that a while ago, mate. The problem was the power outage corrupted my OS, and therefore, I had to reformat, but then I put on WinMe temporarily, and got gurgelmeyer's System Restore, Scanner and Camera Wizard, and Movie Maker 1 with all updates. @gurgelmeyer But I suppose that Windows Movie Maker 2.1 could be modified for win2k. What do you think, gurgelmeyer? Should we add Movie Maker 2.1 from WinXP SP2, or use the one I grabbed from WinMe? @ gurgelmeyer P.S. Could you P.M. me your e-mail for System Restore, Scanner and Camera Wizard, and Windows Movie Maker 1.1? --edit-- I just found out that Win2k Pro SP3+ includes the Scanner and Camera Wizard , so I won't send it to gurgelmeyer.
  10. I think there is a possibility. But if we do find the work-around...either gurgelmeyer or I will test it out and gurgelmeyer add it to the win2k SP. (I had to reformat to go to WinMe temporarily becuase I was adding some files for win2k from winme, like WinME's mscofnig and SR [system Restore]...also from Windows Millenium Edition.) I think the winme's msconfig and system resotre would work perfectly with a few tweaks betwen them, as winme's msconfig has more stuff into it (even the dos stuff, but I'll PM him via e-mail from here on how to delete that kind of stuff), and System Resotre's GUI needs to be re-converted from FAT32 to NTFS layout.
  11. For the Windows XP Themes, I have one that might just work for Windows 2000 right here! It's from MDGX
  12. hey gurglemeyer... I had to reformat to WinMe again becuase Win2k SP4 glicthed on me, said something inacessable hard drive. But since I have WinME, would you like me to send you the System Resotre files with registry and WinMe's msconfig in a self-exe via e-mail? Thnx! And as a complement, I think that your project will be a heck of alot better iwth System Restore and msconfig
  13. Actually, that would be awesome. What do you think, gurglemeyer, and how's buisness with System Restore for win2k? I'm dying for system restore and msconfig in win2k. Win2k would be **THE** ultimate NT OS, right beside XP's name. ...LOL, I couldn't resist saying that.
  14. Hey gurgelmeyer...I have a few suggestions for your win2k SP5: 1) System Restore (I can grab that from winme and translate it into NTFS win2k format if you'd like) 2) 32 bit icandy in the taskbar 3) new Windows logo in the start button (I could help you with that too, if ya'd like) Other than that...I'm now using Win2k SP4 Roll-Up 1, and I had no probelms with it whatsoever. By the way...what new features are in SP5 that aren't in the SP's released by Microsoft? (Just wondering.) Thnx a bunch...and I hope I don't distract too much of your time.
  15. Did you install WinMe on the same partition as WinXP? or did you install it on a FAT32 File System?
  16. True, you can't foget abou the patch. Anyway, I think I might have one more suggestion. Limited users and Administrators, just like Windows XP and 2000. It's just a suggestion, though.
  17. I think I can name two things that should be in the new Win98 Service Pack. Either the WinXP, or WinME System Restore, or WinME or Xp Pinball. Since I have XP right now (and hopefully I get 98SE soon, becuase my XP got the FLA worm on it), I could send Gape the files, and the registry if needed. (Note: I'm just a newbie, and I don't know what been added to it, or what's been going on here, so I'm giving out ideas that could be in the new service pack.) Thnx!
