  1. wow, that's way more complex than what I did. Anybody want to try this out and see if it works? Removed. See my post later in the thread for a newer version. You should be able to call the DefaultInstall section if you want to create the entries for both Firefox and Thunderbird or you can call the individual Firefox/Thunderbird sections if you only want one individual app. So, who wants to confirm that this works?
  2. I'm going to set this up so Firefox and Thunderbird have their own sections which can be invoked individually or as a whole. That way, if you're like me and don't use Thunderbird, it won't add the Thunderbird registry entries.
  3. 834707 can be integrated with the /integrate switch. 816093 can't. Of course, I'd personally recommend you take Microsoft's hint and not install their JavaVM and use Sun's instead, but that's just me. Also, you might be interested in my SP2 update pack. http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/ Finally, do your homework next time. There's a sticky at the top of this forum which discusses this topic in more detail. It's a pain for those of us who post regularly to have redundant threads popping up over and over again because people can't be bothered to do their own research before asking questions.
  4. I'm going to put together some test builds again real shortly. I've been able to reproduce the restart issue when running the EXE from within Windows (with a double click). However, it doesn't restart when called from a batch file called during the GuiRunOnce stage. Go figure. Anyways, I've got some ideas to try out and I'll need some people with extra free time to test them. It'll be 3-4 different versions and I'll need you guys to try them all out and see which ones work and which ones don't.
  5. It's not the manufacturer's fault that MS hasn't updated their OS in awhile. WindowsXP came out long before any of this stuff even existed. There's more to RAID than RAID 0 As someone who's had motherboards with integrated RAID for over 3 years, I think you're blowing the issue grealy out of proportion.
  6. I'll convert this to INF this afternoon.
  7. I've already said at least twice in this thread how to do it. Look, it's real simple (especially since I've already done the hard part). At this point, all you need to do is get the updated files (I use the QFE versions), makecab them, trace the registry entries added by the installer, and add those entries to the INF. That's it. Not rocket science.
  8. Thanks Yeah, I'm a full time engineering student, so life is always busy. And yeah, that Paypal donate button my site is very lonely . Ultimately, I think packs made for specific languages is a better way to do this, since it's very difficult to know what files are language-independent and which ones aren't. There's people making Dutch and German versions already, so maybe others will catch on. I still intend to eventually create a page on my website for international versions made by 3rd parties. Eventually
  9. Bump for those who haven't noticed that 1.0.3 Lite is out.
  10. Make sure you're using Passive mode for FTP transfers (use the help files of your web browser if you don't know what that is) EDIT: It's also available for download from the MSFN Unattended site. But I'm sure you already knew that since you've surely read that site before posting redundant questions in the forum . Since you've apparently forgotten what you already read, here's a link to "refresh" your memory: http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/applications/netframework.htm Seriously, DOES ANYONE EVER BOTHER TO READ THE MSFN UNATTENDED SITE BEFORE POSTING HERE?
  11. Works fine for me. It's annoying as hell, but it works B)
  12. Yes, in fact, this page nicely details the only changes between SP1 and SP2: http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/sp2changes.htm
  13. Not a chance. First off, no time. Second, I don't care about other OSes other than XP SP2. Sorry, I just don't. Fair enough, just giving you a hard time
  14. There are more, the starter just hasn't gotten around to adding them yet. (kind of ironic given why this thread was started )
  15. Please don't link directly to files on my site. Link to http://www.ryanvm.net/msfn/ instead. Thanks.
  16. Haven't I told you before to NOT DIRECTLY LINK TO FILES ON MY WEBSITE???
  17. Would have been helpful if you would have phrased it that way The Office Update ActiveX control isn't included on the XP CD by default, unlike the Windows Update one.
  18. 1.0.3 Lite is out now too. Please note that some components were removed from it (since they were English only), so please do not extract it directly over an older Lite CD.
  19. How exactly would I go about integrating updates for an entirely different product line into Windows??? Maybe you'd like Photoshop updates integrated next? Besides, you can integrate Office updates directly into the install source if you've got an administrative install point of Office.
  20. That one's publicly available for download now, just not from WindowsUpdate. http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=884020
  21. KB883523 will be in my next release
