i installed a program, virtual cd 6. it installed a virtual cd drive onto my computer, called g. its name was "Virtual cd/dvd drive (g) ". i uninstalled the program (didn't like it) but now im stuck with a problem setting. when i put in a removeable drive, it goes into g, and is still called "Virtual cd/dvd drive (g) ". the only drive it doesn't do it with is with my ipod. how do i put that back to the windows default setting? any help will be appreciated thanks (ill get a screen shot next time i get a removable disk)

  6. if your conencted through a router, forward ports 135 to 137 to the computer with the shares. disable your firewall for those ports. next in network places on the remote computer, insert network place, then 0.0.0.0 (ip)\\share this should work, but it is a security risk.
  7. does anyone know how to put in that code that tells how much time it took to make the page? i searched on google and lets say that a script about time isn't what i want. thanks

  11. it is the user switching, only 1 user can have an ipod pluged into the computer. what you can do is go into services, and restart the ipod service under your name. that will start it up like you have the ipod. thats the way iv solved that problem. or there is the point of just checking that no one is signed in when u log on.

    Old Windows

wow, now thats old. the oldest system i remember seeing is windows 3.1
  13. the import wizard will run when there is no firefox data in the applications folder. i figured that out. when i tried to put my setting back with copy from another computer, firefox acts up. you have to find a way to get some default settings, really basic, that you could put into that folder to fool firefox and make it think that theres settings already. thats what iv found out....
  14. perfect, it works. maybe i should work on my english to explain more clearly
  15. nice, all stendalone apps in one simple location. looks good
  16. i got it to work, i changed the install directory. the service was starting but then stopping, and i look through the Mysql help forums, and around page 7 or 8 there was something about that problem. once i reinstalled it, it works perfectly. stupid programs have to be so picky lol
  17. i installed Mysql using the installer, and had set up everything with the wizard. everything looks like it was running properly, but when i use the test script, it doesn't work, it just displays a blank page. im new to Mysql, trying to learn how it works. i looked around, cant find a way to add users and stuff.... i installed it using the Mysql installer "mysql-4.1.9-win32.zip". does anyone know of a good guide that goes step by step how to install Mysql? thanks
  18. this was posted before lol. i remember watching this ages ago when i was a n00b

  20. the only way i know at the moment is to send them to a wabpage that logs ips... like, make a site that has all sorts of fun stuff, and add and ip logging script. i know the ip, browser, and operation system of every single person that has visited my website
  21. yes, they are plug and play. al the drivers are on the ipod and everything. just plug it in, and wait a couple seconds to install, and your all set. iv been doing this at school no problem. a portable harddrive sure beats a flash memory stick(mmmm, more memory *drools*) have fun
  22. ouch, god bless no bandwidth limits alsio, hes only got 2 gig of bandwidth and he used 234? he must be on like, a idsn line or something downloading 24 hours a day, because its impossible for high speed internet to have such a low limit.
  23. ill stick with my playstation. i got a computer with good speakers (probably better then the tvs i have here), dvd player, internet, games, and all i need. why would i need an xbox to do the same thing? plus, what games are you gonna play? the only one really is Halo or Halo 2. get a ps2 with network adaptor, and that all you need (if you own a computer, and im assuming you do if you in the Microsoft forum network)
  24. its true that new OS' jsut take ideas from other people, look at apple, the new mac 10.3 has switching users, a windows xp feature. as soon as i saw that, i knew where they got it, but my pretty stupid friends believes mac thought of it themself. now mac has this thing called expose, which im sure will soon be implememted into the new versions of windows. all they really do is copy ideas back and forth, and some times sue eachother in the process. its a flaw in developement. there should be more time spent thinking of new useful stuff, and less on looking at what other systems have that they an put in. im waiting for mac to implement a blue screen of death
  25. for msn, you can also find out which ports it uses for file transfer, and block them. i used to block all port outwards from my computer when i wanted to get my brother off
