I just found a new tool called depends.exe It is located in your XP CD in SUPPORT\TOOLS and is compressed in SUPPORT.CAB. It lists program dependancies and should be quite handy for this topic.

With QTLite 7b2, the tray icon is present at startup because this reg key is present. I right-click on it, get the menu but then I can click on any entry if the menu, nothing will show up (or not correctly)

AutoIt probably use Windows Hooks : it lets it take control of your mouse and keyboard... This may be a cause. B)

Also, is your wiki listed at http://unattended.msfn.org, or as a sticky on this forum, or at the nuhi site, or whatever place it is that represents the collective? this is not true... True. No, false. No, in fact, true. Or rather, false. Or..... You're right minigun : it will start but will fail on the optimization stage. I don't know if it processes partially or not at all. Bootvis was not designed for this so it still works. The reality is that Prefetcher and some other things Bootvis uses to optimize the computer are dependent on Task Scheduler.

Usually when I answer, I quote the former post. I think I won't do that today. Thanks for your list. I'll try to put it into the wiki. Stumbled on that. Norton used to (I'm not using it anymore) rely on Task Scheduler to schedule Automatic scans and Virus list updates.

Hi all. I'm using latest WIHU version and non unicode names. install.ini is saved as Unicode so that names are displayed correctly. Now, I have another problem : some subsection won't install. Same here. Tested 4x10MB, no problem Maybe it has something to do with the servers load. In France, it's 7:40 AM, Free has big newsgroup/usenet servers (really big) and I know their load is far less than what it is at 8:00PM. If you get errors, could you post here your time ? (GMT time please. )

To me, it sounds strange because I hosted 10Mo files, I downloading them with 4 sections and they are not corrupted. No, corrupted!

It is exactly the same thing except that WMP was entirely removed. About 150 files deleted. M$ wanted to keep WMP and to let the user choose if he wanted Real, QT, WMP.... but the EU commission refused. It is only availabe inside the EU and costs as much money.

It seems to be working. 1-I (re-)downloaded it recently as previous version refused to install 2-checked it with 7-zip : no problem 3-installed fine. A previous version (the same, beta2, but downloaded earlier) was corrupted, it would not install and 7-zip told me the archive was corrupted. But, last one seems to be OK.
