  1. You can also remove setup.exe. It will be installed via the (then renamed) AR6.msi anyway. You gotta rename it to AR6.msi because it's not found otherwise (had to learn the hard way...).
  2. Correction: For any 8xx except the new 865 and 875, which don't need IAA at all for single drives. Only for RAID there's an IAA Raid Edition.
  3. I should mention that this is the unattended method for the "F6" install, so you don't need to do use the floppy disk with the pre-installation RAID drivers during the XP installation.
  4. Has anyone done this before? A lot of info is to be found on http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/iaa_raid/ Including this: http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/.../unattended.htm What i'm wondering about is the "Textmode" folder. How does it know it can find the stuff there?
  5. AFAIK it shouldn't matter one bit. Just make sure everything's included. P.S. at Leon...
  6. Whoops, forgot that Well, Q823559 shows up for sure, but i've either never seen Q323255, or i removed it (due to another patch superceding it) and then forgot about it. But i wouldn't just leave out an update like this, and i've done virgin installs and WU checks on a seperate PC several times...
  7. Hmm, 323255? Hm, i don't think it displayed in the online WindowsUpdate when i ran it on a virgin install. How did you find it? Also, a new patch to be added to the list: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=822603 This also appears on Windows Update.
  8. Pray you don't get banned. Accidental question marks are a sacrilege for which one generally deserves banishment for life and confiscation of his/her keyboard.
  9. BTW, this is for XP Home. For XP Professional, you need hu1002_pro.exe.
  10. Thanks for the tweak, but you should add the [ and ] or it won't work Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\parameters] "AutoShareWks"=dword:00000000
  11. Q331953 can be removed from this list. Although not stated in the Knowledge Base Article, it's superceded by the listed Q824146, which includes the same files, but in newer versions.
  12. At least on a german XP installation, "/u /q /z /n" doesn't create uninstall entries.
  13. Yes, the patch works. It replaces the older patch because they update the same files. P.S. Make sure that you download the german patch version for german XP.
  14. This new patch: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=824146 supercedes the patch http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=823980 which you can remove from your patch lists and add the new one. Download for Win XP: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en
  15. It's easy: Use RegShot. Download: http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=965 or http://www.webattack.com/get/regshot.html It can make a "before" and "after" shot of your registry. So you make the first shot, then make a change in TweakUI, then make the second shot, and RegShot will compare them and show you what was changed. You can find out everything with this!
  16. I got some more up my sleeve Redundant ones from previous threads not included (or so i hope): Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ;Remove Alexa Spyware [-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Extensions\{c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a}] ;Disable Click-Sound [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps\Explorer\Navigating\.Current] @="" ;No Reboot when crash [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\CrashControl] "AutoReboot"=dword:00000000 ;Deactivate Language Bar [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\CTF\LangBar] "ShowStatus"=dword:00000003 ;Auto-Complete [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\AutoComplete] "Append Completion"="yes" ;No Move to Recycle Bin [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\BitBucket] "NukeOnDelete"=dword:00000001 ;Passive FTP [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Ftp] "Use Web Based FTP"="no" "Use PASV"="yes" ;Cache more Icons [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer] "Max Cached Icons"="8192" ;Explorer Tweaks [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\CabinetState] "FullPath"=dword:00000000 "FullPathAddress"=dword:00000001 "Use Search Asst"="no" ;Autorun off [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Cdrom] "AutoRun"=dword:00000000 ;Optimize for DSL [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\Tcpip\Parameters] "TcpWindowSize"=dword:00007fff "Tcp1323Opts"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters] "TcpWindowSize"=dword:00007fff "Tcp1323Opts"=dword:00000001 ;Accept Acrobat EULA [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\6.0\AdobeViewer] "EULA"=dword:00000001
  17. It's called Virtual PC and you can download a trial version at this website. By the way, if you get a lot of "Datei nicht gefunden" errors with your .cmd files, it means that the filenames are still not correct. Then you need to save it as OEM text, not as ANSI text (can be done in UltraEdit, for instance). When you select OEM mode in UltraEdit, the Umlauts need to be correct (ä, ö, ü) and not some weird symbols.
  18. German XP doesn't work that way. The file- and foldernames are different, and also, the characters have to be in DOS codepage, not ANSI (like Windows saves them as default). I mentioned this several times already, but the german guide wasn't updated yet. Take a look at my files, maybe you can understand it. At the end of winnt.sif: ... 19. Could be that the second drive has a primary partition, while the first drive only has logical drives in an extended partition. This would make the second drive's partition come out as "C:". You can check that with a DOS bootdisk (i.e. one from Win98) and typing "fdisk". If that's really the case, you need to delete the partitions on the first drive and make a primary partition on there.
  20. Would you stop spamming the forum with this senseless stuff, thanks.
  21. Erm... could you be a little more specific?
  22. Yes, looks about right. Note that Microsoft themselves don't use quotation marks in their help file example: OemPnPDriversPath = MyFolder1; MyFolder2
  23. It's easy. Open the file with WinRAR. What do you see? dahotfix.exe. You are telling it to run the included dahotfix.exe with the parameters /q and /n.
  24. Yes, this is something that bugs me. When microsoft release new patches I wish they'd say there and then on the update site or update catalog which patches -- if any -- the new one replaces. That link you posted Mike500 does this but I can't really make the article out. Is it just for one patch? Yes, that page is only for the patch 823980. Take this link and replace the number at the end of it with any patch number: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;823980 Then you see the notes for that patch.
