  1. Our whole telcom rack needs to be redone so it wouldn't surprise me about this. I came into the mess a year back and we've had issues on this front for a while... I'll try these suggestions, thanks!
  2. If I knew what DetachedProgram does it'd be a help
  3. I've switched NIC's, cables, reinstalled in fact... Only thing that's the same is the jack, switch port, switch cable and switch... I'll probably try a new wire and a difference port on the switch...
  4. For some reason we have a couple machines that just bog when trying to run a program over the network. Everyone else run's this same program but just these few have issues. It's seems it could be a port issue. Does anyone know of any XP tweaks for network settings? We're running DHCP off a 2003 box and 3 NT4 DC's.
  5. I thought you might be interested in this here... http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/driver/install/DIFxtls.mspx
  6. I still get the problem but only with one of the drivers now... BUT that's okay. It's working well now
  7. Will do and thanks!!! I'll check it out tomorrow... Is Time_to_start in milliseconds?
  8. Good idea's and I'll work on that asap! It's all in there properly... It's not a huge deal I suppose. But I cant wait till the next version
  9. I appreciate your help. I'll send you a log file of it... Where should I look for the string? Could I do a batch to end process rundll32 before it starts? I'm not using the driverpacks only because I want to keep the image slim, should I? Or test with the driver packs instead?
  10. It's possible that the it's not completely unpacked for the Touchscreen or the Synaptics but as for the Intel drivers I definitely made sure that they were. So should I have it start first? Before anything? or wait till windows completely loads then run it?
  11. Looks like you figured it out This function is really helpful because you really only need two images... Quick question though, how do you support smaller disk sizes?
  12. I see... It's just a wierd problem I've been having that's all... Devcon is a okay piece of software but it would suck if it crippled your software. Because, quite frankly, it's a great program for us sysadmins. A wait timer might be nice to implement in the ini file... TimeTillInstall or something Also, if you keep it free you won't see me whining... Oh, I also have to keep hitting "finish" as the end of installation of the hardware. Wierd... Version 0.6.6. The hardware that gives problems is a Panasonic Hotkey driver, Synaptics PS/2 Touchpad, and the Intel Video Drivers for the GM/GME 852/855 Series cannot find the correct driver automatically (have to manually show it where it is). I think that's it... Everything else installs fine.
  13. Dont worry about it... I think I had confused myself. Though, I appreciate you looking into the problem I had with installation of the hardware. The way I am using it is with sysprep and a universal image. I have sysprep run a guirunounce with the ini of Hardware set to automatic. Should there be a certain time before I can run the hardware installer after windows loads? OT, Also when I spoke of a paid for version I also meant that we could use it the way I am now with ghosting. Using it on mutliple computers for sysadmins and paying perhaps $20 (or something) for unlimited use under one corporate entity.
  14. Meaning that you could batch script it... throwing commandline options to the exe... Also I've been having it where it will start to uninstall and then install the correct drivers but even though automatic is on it still prompts to finish or install any specific piece of hardware.
  15. The fact of the matter is that no party can change a license agreement solely because they don't like it. When you install Windows, after you agree to it's LA, do you then re-write it suit your own purposes? NO! You don't then recompile the ISO and host it on your site. That's ludacris and ILLEGAL. Many people have created programs that hold tweaks that are found in various places on the internet. They also charge people to buy from them without any mention of where they found them. At least GDOGG is telling others where he found the information and he's also not profitting from the program either. He's just trying to protect ALL of OUR intellectual property. @GDOGG, I would license it under a common license like GNU or GPL. I think it would hold up better in court than a "hand written" document. That too and the work is a group effort. Think Bashrat's driverpacks. Also, I am sure Microsoft is as frustrated as you've come to be with people and them not following the LA. I also seem to think there's a language barrier somewhere in here (him not having english as a first language or not grasping it properly).
  16. I would pay for an automated version... one that could also take command but also be gui configurable...
  17. Could we possibly keep this On Topic? I too am looking for a way to generate proper HAL before Sysprep loads Minisetup... This gives and interesting idea http://thesystemadministrator.com/n27-6.html
  18. Same here... But I found it on a rapidshare link... I am hosting it on my site for the time being. Oh and there shouldn't be anything wrong with it. I have a McAfee Corporate with active scan. http://www.nerges.net/hosted/XPize442.rar uploading now... 5:43pm east coast
  19. I'll help out... check out my work at http://www.nerges.net Anything you need bro... chris attttt nerges.net (you get the idea) hehe....
  20. Two DC's you mean one PDC and one BDC? Also what are the other servers roles... that would help too... Also, assigned IP's right? Any running IIS, PHP, MYSQL, MSSQL, SUS, SMS, AD? I would say turn them all off then turn them on in order of assigned IP. Because what it could be is the the others are getting the DNS settings from the PDC and if that's not on first it's screwing something up.
  21. Yeah it's a new server a dual 1.8 or faster... 2gb ram...
  22. Okay, So I've got our Win2k Server box up and running with PHP 4/IIS5/MySQL/Perl for about 10 months no probs. But now my Super wants to get our newer box with Win2k3 Server w/ IIS6/SQL to have PHP/MySQL/Perl as well. My question is if MySQL and MSSQL can run on the same box? Mind you this box also has Coldfusion on it. Thanks all!
