there is more to than that. there some posts that go into more w/ the background but i dont worry about it much cause i am like changing mine all the time any way. i never could get it to work by just changing it in the .theme file.

use style builder and import the winxp style, then add the royale style to it. or do what i do, is to download a few and import them all into one theme.

it wouldn't hurt to try downloading the image or creating new boot image using iso buster, and try the install on a harddrive. other than that i am running out of ideas.

it could be a problem w/ vpc, might have to actually try it not in vpc. have u done that at all?

i send what is happening here, u can have everything input but it won't auto format or u can auto format but not input everything. does that seem right???

i am more for the unattended install. i started out just wanting to learn some more about the oses, but what i have learned here is something the MS doesn't always teach. i have managed to cut my install time by @ least 4hrs. i no longer have to seperately install each program, most of it is done for me. so i would say it is worth it.

have u tried maybe using the guest acct?? and making sure it is setup as an admin.

not sure if this helps but, i had a problem w/ a custom shell32.dll, the icons appeared and then went away after some time, but i booted into safemode the other day, when i rebooted the custom icons came back.

have u tried the settings w/in opera? might also ck the opera forumn. i have messed around w/ it a little bit but not enough to do any of that.

i would recommend either getright or fresh download, i have been using fresh download more here lately, u do have to register it, once registed, export the registration code & settings, then add it to ur reg file & it will automatically be added.

an example would be: ECHO Installing Cursors... XCOPY /Q %systemdrive%\install\Cursors %systemroot%\Cursors ECHO. %systemdrive%\install\Cursors: this is where they are located at %systemroot%\Cursors: this is where u want them installed to this is the way i used to do it, but i just created a cursors folder in the system directory that way they are automatically added.

is each app in its own folder? u make it sound like everything is just in the application folder as: %systemdrive%\install\Applications. for example: not %systemdrive%\install\Applications\DAP7, which is the way u have it listed.

that is a good question, but i did see it somewhere in the forum, will have to look for it, i think maybe in the tweak section. i would try the software on another computer. also try another cd burner. if it did it w/ nero, it could be hardware related, have u also changed cds that u r burning too? might try it, but i don't that is it.

other than using the printscreen button & ms paint, what are some other screen utilities that everyone is using? i am interested in it, seeing as how it is used so much.

why not go one step further. use winrar to repackage, choose sfx option, and the best format, then alter the sfx options to what u want (ex: directory to the wallpaper one). this will create an executable w/ no switches needed & also add compression reducing the size & then add that to the runonce. i did and it works pretty **** good!!!!!

not sure if this helps but i did it w/ winrar for my wallpapers. it reduced the 40+mb to 19mb and it installs directly into wallpaper folder and get excuted straight from the runonceex. i used the sfx compression, works like a charm.

have u tried updating or downloading any patches? i have been looking for some info on those errors messages but haven't come up w/ much. i did have problems where the cds just weren't any good. but my idea is that there is a buffer underrun problem. have u also tried uninstalling and reinstalling? might try on another computer as well if u have a buddy that would let u or 2nd computer. if it works fine there that would rule out a software issue. something to try would be maybe another burn program like nero or something. would u also happen to know what color the bottom of the discs are? r u using regular cdrs or dvd cdrs? 90% of the errors i have gotten have been because of the buffer underrun, it just was not keeping the buffer full even if it was the only thing running. just thought of something else, have u removed winxps built in burning program. i removed it and had all sorts of problems burning. had to reinstall just to get it back.

what software have u installed/uninstalled before the problem started. it could be something related to that. something i do is to make sure there are no running programs in the background, i go as far as closing some of the services too. make sure that burning is the only thing u r doing at the time, don't be burning & browsing the internet or listening to winamp (or whatever u use) at the same time. i sometimes have problems keeping the buffer full, so try copying the files to the harddrive first.

creating a cd image or iso, what is everyones favorite. i had tried several but cannot make up my mind. i would like to know what everyone else is using.
