Hehe, thats amazing..

Here is a regtweak for you who has discovered Media.Player.Classic.2kxp6482 (no, NOT the one in OS but the third party excellent one). I throw in that mplayerc.exe in system32 at install and then apply this tweak @T-12 for registering all those extensions...also loosing some default settings as well Windows Registry Editor Version uhmm, sorry for delay. did try bootvis this morning but there is nothing in the window so I guess it's not recognizing the OS. dang, this is a bummer! any ideas of any other tool to use for analyzing that bootsequence? EDIT: getting somewhere here, when disabling the NIC boot did went thrue without any delay...has the same boot time now on both configurations. Should be safe to say it's NIC driver related then

Oh, they are removed..the difference in size is only a few MB between with or without driverpacks ...due to only using Nvidiacard, Marvell NIC and built in soundchip (C-Media) it's not much at all that is getting installed either. But even in the Virtual PC tests it differs, and there I sure look over both the installed size and boot-time from every install..hehe! ..chasing those MB and boot-time you know Will have a look at it with bootvis, sounds like a good idea

Actually I was talking about the 'installed-windows-boot' ..I tried to clarify that as good as I could So the issue is not the install, I have no arguments towards the fact that it takes it's time it needs Like I said before, the difference in boot-time when used the driverpacks for install is permanent...it takes at least 30 sec's more It "studders" and halts from what I can hear and see on the progressbar, for what it's worth.. I have tried this in both VP and two "live" boxes...with same result.

Playing around with a costumized "BringWithMeEverywhereInTheWorld" W2003 setup thats been slimmed down with Nlite and that also includes an slimmed down OfficeXP that installs @ T-12....man is this a beauty! It lands on 330mb so I have even tried to include all the driverpacks to really be prepared to all kinda configurations. It gets all slipped in and works as a dream, but why does the boot-time increase so drastically with the driverpacks added compared to without? (I'm not refering to just the first boot, it's there permanent) I have tried both methods and with same result. Without Driverpack used for install I have a boot-time of maybe 10-15 sec but with'em used for install I get around 45 sec...is there a modified bootsequence and/or just something I have to live with? ...if I just could get that awesome boot with the driverpacks added as well, this truly amaze me what you guys have accomplished EDIT: Hmmm, maybe I should clarify: when I make an installation with help of the driverpacks thats been streamed onto my Nlited 2003 Server install disc my boot-time are much longer compared to when installed without the driverpack and driver added afterwards.
