1. Before the weekend, Opera's CEO, Jon S. von Tetzchner boldy proclaimed at a company meeting that if download numbers of Opera 8 reached 1 million within four days he would swim from Norway to the USA. Opera's communications department could not resist the temptation, and made his statement public. As any respectable CEO and gentlemen, Mr. Tetzchner stands by his word. "I want to thank each and every one of the one million plus people who have downloaded Opera 8 over the last days. I am proud to say that this is the most successful browser launch in the ten-year history of Opera. I have received numerous requests over the weekend on whether or not I am going to swim to the USA should we reach one million downloads. Although I blatantly admit that my promise was based more on joy and enthusiasm than my swimming abilities and physical health, I will do my very best to keep it." - Jon S. von Tetzchner, CEO Full Story: Opera.com
2. No, what I am saying is that you got the wrong name. Spyware names are not meant to be known to the end user. It was obviously a trick that every single popup would be named Aurora. Not even sure if the company who made it has a definite name, but the ones I know of are: MyPCTuneUp, DirectRevenue, ABetterInternet, and IpInSight. MyPCTuneUp actually removes the spyware that THEY made in the first place. The uninstaller included is a bit risky (made by the same company that made Aurora), but it's the only known way to remove it. Note that the uninstaller does send your computer name to their server. uninstall.exe
3. Only available for Falcon Northwest computers. Your CPU is a definite bottleneck, but there may be other problems too. Do you have the latest driver for your graphics card? I'm not too sure about this, but maybe there's a PCI Express driver too?
4. You may be able to start Windows with basic VGA mode (press F8 at boot) and then start whatever app messed up your card to see if it was a problem with the setting you chose.
5. The CPU tweak is: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management] "SecondLevelDataCache"=x But of course there is debate whether this tweak hinders or increases system performance. See my registry clarification guide: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=43464 CMOS IRQ can be configured by opening up the system.ini file and under the section [386enh], type in IrqX=Y where x is the IRQ number of the CMOS clock(found in Hardware Manager) and Y is how many KB's you would like to dedicate to it. I recommend 4096. UDMA66 mode can be enabled using the following registry tweak: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96A-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000] "EnableUDMA66"=dword:00000001 Processor Check: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager] "ProcessorControl"=dword:00000000 Check out my tweak page: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=43465
6. Giving yourself five invites sounds like an inconsiderate great idea. j/king
7. @DigeratiPrime Proof that Opera is faster: http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html#winspeed Features not in Firefox: *Voice Command *Customization *Mouse Gestures *Kiosk Mode *Fast Forward *Session Saving *Notes *Mail *Chat *Small-screen Mode *Code Validation *Better Download Manager As for customization, any visual element of Opera can be controlled down to the menu items. Opera also has a very small memory footprint if configured right.
8. @Martin L I think you missed a part.

10. Checked all of the spyware lists I know of and none of them list a spyware named Aurora...
11. Spybot is losing some of its past detecting prowess. In my opinion, Microsoft AntiSpyware is the best; after all, they do have the source to Windows and know better than anyone else how spyware works.
12. You would not notice any speed difference between webpage loading with different browsers unless you time it. I personally use Opera now, but I was a huge Firefox fan. Firefox is not all that great now that hackers, advertisers, etc. are targetting it because of its rising popularity. People should really try Opera. Offers way more features.
13. TweakXP is just a compilation of a variety of registry tweaks with an inteface.
14. Some tweaks can, but not all.
15. Hope this works... If it does not, try to find as many arbitrary seven character files as you can and post it. delspy.rar

19. Might be your codecs.
20. Not all programs support a language instead of English.
21. Newest stable driver. Download -Win2K/XP
22. ^Errmm...kinda hard to read^ Most likely, there are no available Longhorn drivers for 5600Go just yet, as they are not the most up to date mobile graphics. Your best bet is to not use Longhorn yet until someone comes out with the right drivers. And the drivers you currently have will not work because the site makes no mention of them being Longhorn drivers.
23. So did you attempt multiple times to login and reboot it also?
24. There's not many files these days that can fill a monolithic 300GB hard drive .
25. Is your driver 32-bit or 64-bit (there are 64-bit drivers out)?
