  1. been using BitLord for torrents, simply because it's light on resources and has an inbuilt search. stopped using Kazaa sometime back after the virus warning by my AV. and still prefer the Donkey for s/ware, since IMO it is the largest source. but after reading all the other post's i'm thinking of trying out Shareaza. @ arnold991 still a week for Holi
  2. i'd tried it on a P4 1.2 Ghz, which i thought would be slow by today's standard. well my bad, i guess. did not mean to offend you there buddy. and did i forget to say THANKS for the info and clarification.
  3. i don't like reposting too. but this tweak does not save any time at bootup. if you don't want feedback why do you ask for it?
  4. the /NOGUIBOOT switch will disable the WinXP bootscreen too. so what you get to see is a blank screen for that duration, so how exactly will that be saving bootup time.
  5. you'r right the BootEditor has been refered to before in one of the other threads. while you'r on their site you should check out the LogonUIBootRandomizer too, seems like an awsome app. for some reason i've never been able to use this prog. turns out that the file is corrupt, sent a mail to the guys there still waiting for a reply.
  6. Insert the WinXP CD in the drive and run the SFC command in Dos. Start > Run > Cmd > sfc/scannow no idea about the rest of your problems
  7. had the same problem on the other broadband connection, turned out that the ISP's guys who had come to set up the connection, had set a fixed IP. well ever since i changed to setting's to "obtain IP address automatically" the problem is resolved. just my 2bit's
  8. hi guys, i've been coming here since a few days to check out the nice inputs by all you guys, and finally decided to get registered today. i'm Arvind from Bombay(mumbai) India. not a professional nor a quallified person like most of the members here, but i do like to fidget with comps. got a full time job and i do some installation on the side, well the cash helps guess that's all. PS: had i come here earlier maybe i would've been a pro by now, my bad i guess.
