problem solved by removing DriverPack MassStorage....
-
Hellow, I want to test my unattended CD on an old laptop, but I get an error when I have to select the partition to install it on. When I use a normal windows XP cd, there is no error, and I see that the C drive is formated as fat32. When I use my unattended cd, I have to format the partition again, and this does not work. The problem is solved when I remove the driverpacks... any idea what could be the reason for this problem?
-
That's the problem, when I use VMware, it works perfectly. I'm now testing it without the driverpacks. (I have a rewritable ) edit: just did a test without the driverpacks. Works perfect now... So let's contact BTS :-)

DPs Poll #3: Are you a professional user?
Telenut replied to Bâshrat the Sneaky's topic in The General Stuff
At this moment I only use them for my own pc's, and on pc's of friends. But I'm working on a version to use at work. (It has to be a networkinstallation, not from CD) Since I still have some problems with the networkinstallation, I have not tested the DP's with that kind of installation. Any idea if this will give problems? (I guess not..) -
Yes I do. But when I have errors on a virtual PC, I know that I don't have to try it on a real PC. Now there is a chance that it will work btw, is there any way to see if the drivers are installed? I have 5 different PC's to test it on. (but on this laptop I allready know there will be a problem with the videodriver) When I manage it to integrate al the hotfixes, I burn a CD, test the CD and report the errors here. But hey, so far so good :-)

I did a test with the latest version, all the driver packs. Had no errors with vmware. (I used nLite to cleanup the cd and wpi as installer) Good job BTS!

Unable to download... php error (not only the Base, but all the files, and I was waiting till midnight to download (telenet eh)...)

Why not use a stable version and a beta version? So people can relay on the stable version if they don't want to help debugging. I had to rebuild my iso 5 times this weekend, but hey, it's working. (and I don't have a girlfriend anymore to complain about the time I spend after the computer. Too bad I can't dump my dad )
-
Just tested the latest version. Had this error: windows kan het bestand d:\OEM\bin\WatchDriverSigningPolicy.exe niet vinden And indeed, the file was not there. So I know how to solve the problem, but I did not deleted it... So maybe there is a little bug in the script?

thx, that's it! (must have missed that part of this thread)

Unattended install through network
Telenut replied to Callme_LONGHORN's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
When you want to change the keyboard layout or the language (regionalsettings) you have to add "/rx:lang" to the setup string. More information can be found here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;289125 or on this forum http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=41503 -
[regionalsettings] Ignored With Networksetup
Telenut replied to Telenut's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
When I manage to get it working with a patch, I'm happy. But when I manage to get it working without one, that would be great :-) (thx for the help so far) Still have to check if it works with the patch... Time is a problem here :s -
[regionalsettings] Ignored With Networksetup
Telenut replied to Telenut's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
the /rx:lang works, so windows does not ask for the CD anymore. But the regionalsettings in winnt.sif are still ignored I would like to integrate the settings in the winnt.sif file, not with a 'patch' after the installation. (not sure if this patch works completely, still have to test that) -
Multi Language Unattended - Strange problem...
Telenut replied to Dj-Throll's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
I have the same problem, see: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=ST...t=0#entry290432 There is sollution to change the language after installation... -
[regionalsettings] Ignored With Networksetup
Telenut replied to Telenut's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Found the sollution on the microsoft website: You can customize the [RegionalSettings] section of your answer file to specify the regional and language options listed in Table 2.9 To use this section of your answer file, you must add, as a minimum, the /copysource:lang parameter to Winnt32.exe or the /rx:lang parameter to Winnt.exe. edit: sollution does not work -
Using Wpi With Multiple Computers And Network
Telenut replied to Mango's topic in Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)
I don't create a new config.js for each computer. The networkdrive is different for every computer, and the software is in that drive. So in WPI you can check (ifexist) if the software is there or not. When it's not, you can nog select it.... So problem solved :-) (or not?) -
I have a problem with the keyboardsettings after an installation over network. When I try to change the settings after the installation (see http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=41503&hl= ) windows searches the files on the A: drive... Is there a way to change that location? (or a reason why this is not the networkdrive?) I use a bootdisk to start the installation, has this something to do with it? Could not find a sollution on this forum (and I have no idea why I had a ban for 24 h) edit: Found the sollution on the microsoft website: You can customize the [RegionalSettings] section of your answer file to specify the regional and language options listed in Table 2.9 To use this section of your answer file, you must add, as a minimum, the /copysource:lang parameter to Winnt32.exe or the /rx:lang parameter to Winnt.exe. (still have to test it)

I have the following settings in winnt.sif [RegionalSettings] LanguageGroup = 1 Language = 0813 SystemLocale = 00000813 UserLocale = 00000813 InputLocale = 0813:00000813,0413:00000413 Al the other settings are correct in the final result, exept those. (I can force it to use other settings by deleting al the other languages, but that is not the preffered way off course) If there is an alternative (change the settings after setup with a reg file), Ok, as long as it works :-)

How To Install An Odbc System Dsn
Telenut replied to Telenut's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Nope, still have to test it. (I don't use it at home, it is just for testing at work. I'm trying to create a good working unattended installation over network before I suggest the idea to the 'boss'. They are verry, old fashioned here :s, It has to be perfect before they even consider looking at it. And zo I do al the testing after working hours too...) edit: Boss went home this noon :-) It works by just exporting the reg key, and then import it again. Have not tried the other script -
seems to be perfect, thx!
