Unattended...

Is it possible to disable those devices in device manager? (a way that works on all the hardware devices?)

I'm using winnt.exe (networkinstallation) When everything works fine I will start a new topic on networkinstallation. The one I found here was not complete :-)

I had the same problem after removing windows messenger, MSN browser, etc... with nLite. Problem was solved by not removing them with nLite, but just don't install them by editing the winnt.sif [Components] msmsgs=off msnexplr=off media_clips=off ...

Can I do this unattended?

Someone any idea where to find the latest gdisk.exe ? (guess it's not free...) And how do I create a flp file (floppy image) to use with vmware? (I don't have a floppydrive in my laptop...)

Only the recent pc's support PXE booting. And I have no idea how to set up a windows installation with PXE (using unattended.sourceforge.net is not an option at this moment)

Indeed, I have to reboot to make the C: visible. Would it be possible to check this in a bat file? (so I only run gdisk when the HD has to be formatted, after that, reboot and run winnt...) I know a way to do it by writing files to a share after gdisk, and when they exist... BartPE CD... I have tested it one, cool tool, but most of the pc's here don't have a CD-rom drive... So it has to work over a network.

I don't even get to the unattend.txt part. Always the not enough free space error. Strange thing: When I try to access the C: drive after booting up with the networkdisk, I get an error. When I boot with a normal win98 floppy I have an empty c: formatted fat32. When I try again with the networkbootfloppy, it works and copies al of the needed files to the HD. Then it reboots, and ... then I forgot to put out the floppy :-) I test it again tonight

I was able to install IZArc silent, but it does not register the extensions. The link to the custom file in this forum is dead. Someone has a registry file te correct this?

When I search for "firefox search plugin" on this forum I get a lot of results, bot most of them useless... using google to search this forum works better. Maybe change the plugin to use google to search the forum?

During installation of the first program (dot.net) on an old laptop I get the error: Script does not react, do you want to abbort (actually it is in Dutch) Has this something to do with dotnet or is is a problem with WPI? edit: after waiting a long time it seems like the installation has not stopped. So is there a sollution for the error?

Need that one too, same for Thunderbird. And I would like to set both as 'default'. (Guess the answer to this question can be found in the forum someware...)

Is it a FullUnattended?

Strange, I don't have a winnt.exe in that folder Guess nLite deletes this files (found them on a original winXP SP1 CD)

Nide tool, but the instructions are not verry clear. So you have to use it on a clean install, does this means: windowsXP SP1 without any update? Or will it work on a fully patched windows XP SP2? How about the updates of office, can they be included? And when do you have to run the program? First make an unattended version of office (create the mst file) Can this be done with a slipstreamd version of office (with al the updates?) And when I finaly have done a clean install of windows, do I have to run your program before installation of office? And after running your program, what will I get? Will the source files be reduced, and do I have to copy them to use in a new unattended CD? (yes yes, like many others I'm a newbie... And I spend too mutch time reading al the comments in postings )

The sticky topics with application install switches are interesting, but not easy to search. En most of them have a link to an other topic in this forum. (somtimes more than 15 pages...) Can I find a database online where I can search for an application and a little guide if needed. Eventualy with the option to add applications... (I have the idea I spend to much time here )
