It did open up the remote control panel i dont think i had any options to change the settings but i could view them. I found the problem to be not having BITS installed on the server as soon as that was installed i repaired the installation (using systems management in control panel on a client) and that resolved it.

Is there a Windows XP program that allows you to convert rmvb videos (Real media player) to wmv? thanks

Admins - Sorry if this is in the wrong section. if so please could you move. Thanks I dont think this is illegal but i want to unlock my mobile phone so i can insert any SIM card into it (if you dont know when you insert a SIM from another network it will ask for a password - you have to pay for the password which is admin fee but i think ill want to do this myself rather than pay them). I know it may void my warranty etc but i wondered if anyone know a program that i can use or any information on this? Thx

My little cousin changed the time on my PC (he put it forward) as a joke to wake me up earlier than normal. The problem now is i get the following error with Kaspersky "most likely the system date was put forward after the license key installation, set the correct date and try again" Ive tried setting the correct date but makes no difference - how can this be resolved? Sorry yet another update - I worked out how to remove SMS from client PCs (use SMS Toolkit 2 then run ccmclean) i then used the client.msi file which was a advanced client utility (\\Server\C$\SMS\Client\i386) and that installed without any problems. and tested to see if it connected to the site (and eventually it did) Now the new problme here is when i clicked remote control (in control panel) then show status it says: "Cannot display current remote control status. The remote control agent service is not started" looked at MS KB http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=883983 did what it asked and still have the same problem (only performed the actions on the server) anyone else got any other ideas? thx

i tried logging is as a normal user (non adminsitartor) and i had an error (only admins can install) i tried browsing to the msi file found in \\server\sms\client........ directory that installed but not any remote components as when i clicked the sutton it said "remote components not installed" any other ideas? Im having difficulties installing SMS on my clients. i run smsman.exe in the folder: \\Server\c$\SMS\bin\i386\00000409\ and get the error: the wizard was unable to locate a systems management server. Enter the name of a specific installation location anyone know why or what im doing wrong? Thanks

Ok sorry for not adding more info in the 1st place. The problem is odd couple of black spots on a LCD screen that come and go depending if the monitor is hot ive had the monitor replaced but theyre still there when the monitor is on for about 2+ hours Thanks

Ok before someone decides to mail the administrator to say im on about something illegal......im not - all im after is a hack where i can keep the activation files/ registry keys so when i reinstall my system i dont have to contact microsoft. I am using the same system nothing changed - Ive tried saving the wpa files from the system 32 folder then copying them to the new system files when ive reinstalled but that dont help. Thanks peeps

never mind..... i did the following: To add the ProhibitIpSec registry value to your Windows Server 2003, follow these steps: 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedt32, and then click OK. 2. Quit Registry Editor, and then restart your computer. This stopped that error (20171) but i get a succesful connection reported on the server and tells me this could be a FW issue or ports being blocked - anyone know a tool to check for open/ closed ports? Men, heres the plot: Ive created a VPN connection as mentioned above (i also followed advise on this link http://www.pctechnicians.ca/help/singlenic.html). I have forwarded TCP port 1723 and GRE * (i assume * means all GRE protocol ports) and and UDP port 500 with ESP protocol port * to my server - it connects and hangs at the verifying username and password and returns back error 721 - ive searched google and not coming to any resolution. Windows FW is disabled and i have run SCW before (not after creating this connection) but i dont think that is an issue - what do you guys think? I want to redirect all users documents to a folder on my server. I created a GPO to redirect all users documents and gave domain users full access to the folder. I also had a GPO that restricts users from accessing C:\ but for some reason the redirection is NOT taking place and i am receving errors relating to security credentials - is this due to not allowing access to C drive (well i dont think it is but thought to ask you guys anyway) or is it something ive done wrong? thx
