This error appear after reboot because you don't install net framework 4.0 yet . The next reboot the error will not appear to you in normaly case. Please install the latest extended kernel it make your system more compatible

This error message is appear when the extended kernel is not installed yet 🥲 Means Windows2000-KB935839-v31aM-x86-ENU.wlu not successfully installed , because there are is not a valid 32 application message and the missing function in iphlpapi.dll . The Windows2000-KB935839-v31aM-x86-ENU should appear in add/remove program , and first windows2000-kb891861-v2-x86-enu should also appear . I advise you when you try , try with latest extedned kernel , the problem which appear to you not due to version of kernelEx , don't forget to restart after any update. And the update v2 should installed first , and then restart then install extended kernel . Extended kernel in his installation should installed in two time means the primary execution extended kernel will install the required update then reboot then you should to execute the extended kernel .wlu again and select the options in window of extended kernel options and install , then reboot

What is the language of your Windows 2000 ? Have you previously installed an old version of the extended kernel ? have you installed extended core ? If yes, what version of the extended core have you installed ?

if you have install IE6 sp1 and Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 SP4(v2) and problem still persiste (this is strange) ,try in virtual box , and before installing extended kernel install VirtualBox Guest Additions .

If it works with XP it will work with 2000 and with HFSlip of blackwingcat is the most better modified installation of Win2000 , you should try it

hi , according to my experience today and i ask blackwingcat in problem i think like your problem but with more details , the problem is because you don't have KB891861-v2 installed in your envirenement. extended kernel required if you use original 2000SP4.iso without any updates then you should to have: IE6SP1(not SP0->if sp0 the installation of kernelEX will not work)+KB891861-v2 (Update Rollup 1 for Windows 2000 SP4(v2)) installed, i hope this will solve your problem.
