  1. The title says it all. I'm wondering what the consensus is around here, in regards to how secure XP is as a daily driver, now that POSReady 2009 updates are finished. I've disabled remote desktop, enabled Windows firewall, enabled my routers firewall.. What are your thoughts? What can I do to lock XP down, security wise?
  2. None of the about:config tweaks listed above improve performance at all for me, on my Radeon 9600 Pro.
  3. Well, it can’t possibly get any worse. Interestingly enough, I get excellent HW acceleration on my Latitude 100L with a 2.66 GHz Pentium 4 mobile 2GB DDR, and Intel integrates graphics. It’s even faster with Quantum in Debian.
  4. I have a plethora of ATI / Nvidia AGP cards that I fiddle around with. I've been using the Nvidia cards lately, due to the HW accel problem with ATI. I'll test it out on a Radeon 9600.
  5. Wow, great work! I'll be sure to give it a go later on, and report back.
  6. What an insufferable craphead. What is his deal?
  7. This has worked brilliantly for me on my Pentium iii LAtitude C810, and Athlon XP desktop! Why in the world do older Mozilla browsers have hardware accelerated web rendering disabled by default? It's a game changer!
  8. I've found the same thing to be true. My lowly GeForce 6200 accelerates New Moon faster than my HD 2600 Pro does.
  9. Thanks for the SSE build of New Moon, Roytam! My Latitude C810 is back online
  10. This is probably a stupid question, but which browser should I be using for my day to day? Is BOC a replacement for New Moon?
  11. This would be amazing if someone were to get Discord working on XP!
  12. What operating system will you use?
  13. This is probably a stupid question, but when I'm setting up my account with MailNews, I don't see a field to enter my login password. Any idea's?
  14. This is pretty neat. I don't have any newer hardware to test on, but I'm surprised more people haven't chimed in on this, yet.
  15. That's interesting. I wasn't aware a Seamonkey fork for XP existed. It is amazing to me that we have such a plethora of browser options, for an operating system that is 18 years old.
  16. So, if this update is so crucial, why exactly aren't they pushing these updates automatically? Last I checked, Windows update service still works on Windows XP.
  17. Perhaps Vista wasn't vulnerable?
  18. This user is obviously a moron, but who cares? I assume Pale Moon is GPL'd, right? If so, they can't do anything about others forking, and redistributing their browser. Regardless of how annoyed they may be. Yeah, nevermind what I just said lol.
  19. I think I discovered why we have received a new update. https://www.theverge.com/platform/amp/2019/5/14/18623708/zombieload-attack-intel-processors-speculative-execution EDIT - I was wrong This is why https://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-patches-windows-xp-server-2003-to-try-to-head-off-wormable-flaw/
  20. I think it's a testament to what a great OS XP is. They're pushing updates, because people are still using it. An operating system from 2001 still has a market share of roughly 1.6%, is that not crazy?
  21. I don't really have any constructive criticism to offer, but I would like to give @roytam1 a big THANK YOU for your work on these browsers! You are appreciated!
  22. New Moon 28, and I'll be giving Interlink Mail News a try here shortly :D
  23. Likewise, I've been using XP since roughly 2006, and I have no intention of giving it up any time soon. MS will have to pry it from my cold dead hands.
