Does this present a scenario where you had a perfectly working thing, then the software updated and now it says you can't use it?
No,I didnt have it installed before, but i recently read that most of the features arent available in the legacy versions of origin,so if theres a way to bypass the O/S check then maybe we can use origin with all the features again.

Hello, IT Seems That Origin has Stopped Support For XP and Vista and the minimum O/S requirement is now Windows 7 SP1 + , is there any way of bypassing this to install the latest versions of origin on vista?

I have not any of those card, sorry for the possible misunderstanding I created, the "Windows 2000" I was referring to was MSFN member "Windows 2000", not the OS "Windows 2000", let alone "my" "Windows 2000" OS install (that runs when - nowadays rarely - I use it on a good ol' mini-ITX VIA motherboard and its on-board graphic card).
I guess we could state that MSFN member "Windows 2000" chose not the most original (nor the least distinctive) username.
jaclaz
i didn't get confused or anything as such,i was just asking if he had tried modding the inf a bit and trying to add the card.
Even then adding to the question, shouldn't xp drivers work for windows 2000 ?0 -

Yep , I know, just asking if there was a specific "preferred" one, like "try 361, not 355.73".
The "361 page" does not even list any 10xx series card:
http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/GRAPHICS-BOARD/NVIDIA/NVIDIA-GeForce-iCafe-Graphics-Driver-36177-for-XP.shtmlseemingly the only one with:
is the 368.91 page you gave in your first post.
Since Windows 2000 could not find any reference to those cards, it is likely that it is a mistake/a glitch in the matrix.
jaclaz
i will look into this matter and see if i can find alternative drivers, lets hope we can find working ones
Did you try to manually add strings in the inf? just to confirm0 -

Which older ones? (out of curiosity)
Do you have a link to them (or a version number, etc.)?
jaclaz
just at the left of the link ive given is the full order list of all the older ones
eg . 361 below0 -

This driver does NOT work on any Nvidia GTX 1000 Series video card. Moreover, there isn't even a string for any Pascal graphics card in the .inf file.
why dont you try the older ones?

Unfortunately 4.6.2 doesn't work on Vista, installer shows the usual 'not applicable to your os', so 4.6.1 is the last working version on vista, and unfortunately, after you install 4.6.1, WU won't find any new updates even though it should install the 4.6 part of .net framework april rollup for Vista, so you have to install it manually, fortunately, the installer detects 4.6.1 version correctly even though 4.6.1 is technically not meant for us (or is it? while I was trying to install 4.6.1 a few days ago, it downloaded files for Windows 6.0, and official requirements do not mention any Windows based on 6.0 kernel and at the same time it installs with no problem, really weird).
seems good,if we are able to get a extended vista/7 then it should be easy to install newer .net framework i suppose, but lets see if someone is lending a hand in that project, time will tell

This is the update that you need to install first: KB4015195
After you installed KB4015195 and reboot, you will need to apply these updates:
KB890830 (Malicious Software Removal Tool)
KB915597 (Windows Defender)
KB4014661 (Cumulative Security Update)
KB4014652 (Security Update)
KB4014793 (Security Update)
KB4014794 (Security Update)
KB4014984 (.NET Framework Security and Quality Rollup)
KB4015067 (Security Update)
KB4015380 (Security Update)
KB4015383 (Security Update)
KB4017018 (Update)
KB4017094 (Security Update for Microsoft Silverlight)As far as I know, there are actually 12 updates including the final Windows Defender update.
All updates beyond KB4017094 will only be made available for Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1 or Windows 10.
some really good updates that could make vista last for many years with a good antivirus i'd say unless some new vulnerabilities are discovered

Bad News They were the last ones

Sadly, Microsoft is dropping Windows Vista support after today. We don't know right now if there are any final updates or that Windows Vista is missing out on its last chance for a update until we check.
Update: There were 11 updates available on the Windows Vista platform today. However this is going to be the last time updates will be able on the OS.
april 11th 2017 updates for vista?

Great, the drivers also work with the GTX 960. The last driver for vista is 365.19 which is so out of date, that some games even reject to start.
glad it worked for you

Press the Start Button + the PauseBreak button and at the left you will see advanced system settings, click on that,go to the advanced tab, click on settings under startup and recovery and untick automatically restart.
Once Done, Reinstall the update and see what error code you're getting and accordingly we can help you out.

According to me, it should work just fine.
