  1. Not off-topic, you just have to say something, a lot of work is waiting for you (GdiPlus.dll, kernel32.dll, ntdll.dll). Hope dies last! (Extended XP)
  2. Off-Topic: This is not your seriousness, your child is punished with these names . With us in Germany, the name Heino is known for its frightful, commercial folk music, which I hate above all. A prime example for this typical commercial and mainstream s*** (Oh sorry, excrement). Just search for the Heino in google and believe me you will not expect your child (blond toupee with sun glasses). My pseudonyms in the forums are already unique and dissuasive.
  3. @dencorso That there will be no more security bulletins in the future, where an orientation was, is very regrettable. I only noticed that for some updates in March, an update for the update was released this month. A note about the POSReady updates, because of a previous installation of MSI 4.5 in the first comment, would be desirable.
  4. @Dave-H It was a very good idea to find a different way to install the updates, the way the Updaterollup worked. The error is also no longer present.
  5. Since I create Updaterollups, I could give you something by PM if interest exists. The updates are already extracted in this package. Maybe the node can be solved.
  6. Are there more disks or partitions? If so, the update is first unpacked on a drive (for example to c:) in a cryptic folder, which is perhaps a drive where there is not enough disk space. A scandisk has already been executed, which may be an error in the file system. Would make a checkout with the Kaspersky Rescue Disk (bootable), to rule out an attack by malicious software. Unfortunately, the ideas go out of my now. Sorry, but this seems to be a very resistant problem to where many causes can be.
  7. That with the registry is fine, strange.
  8. Then check whether the key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce" is present in the registry. If this does not help, then my knowledge is unfortunately exhausted.
  9. If there is no virus infection, it can not hurt to try the following. Open Notepad and paste the following code regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuweb.dll regsvr32 Mssip32.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 Softpub.dll regsvr32 Wintrust.dll regsvr32 Initpki.dll Then save it as a batch file (for example, rep.bat) and run it. Restart the computer and try a manually downloaded update.
  10. This gives no confusion, .NET Framework 2 sp2 is part of the .NET Framework 3.5 sp1 package.
  11. @SD73 With me it takes still until I can carry out various tests, as there were some updates this month. @glnz KB4017018 (gdi32.dll) seems to be a rework to KB4012583 in March (gdi32.dll, usp10.dll, gdiplus.dll). In the security bulletins, I have not found any information at this time.
  12. @Bersaglio With me it takes still a bit until I deal with the Office updates, because I manually download the updates via WSUS and bring together in an Updaterollup. With the direct links it is of course faster, but I think there are also many users who have a different language version of Windows XP, so my links via WSUS with search query where the updates match the language of the webbrowser offered. There is a serious security problem with Word (I worry about Word 2003). Updates are available for Office 2007 and Office 2007 Compatibility Packs, as well as for Wordpad under Windows XP (KB4014793). Thanks for the supplement.
  13. Current updates for Windows XP: WindowsXP-KB4014652-x86-ENU.exe 04/07/2017 WindowsXP-KB4014793-x86-ENU.exe 04/07/2017 WindowsXP-KB4014794-x86-ENU.exe 04/07/2017 IE8-WindowsXP-KB4014661-x86-ENU.exe 04/07/2017 WindowsXP-KB4015067-x86-ENU.exe 04/08/2017 WindowsXP-KB4015195-x86-ENU.exe 04/08/2017 WindowsXP-KB4015380-x86-ENU.exe 04/08/2017 WindowsXP-KB4015383-x86-ENU.exe 04/08/2017 WindowsXP-KB4017018-x86-ENU.exe 04/08/2017 Current Update for .NET Framework 3.5 sp1: NDP20SP2-KB4014580-x86.exe 04/10/2017 Current Update for .NET Framework 4: NDP40-KB4014570-x86.exe 04/10/2017
  14. On the fact that the Avast with the file "dwmapi.dll" strikes, I have already informed Dibya, should be replaced. Well, the April patch day is coming next Tuesday and no updated Extended XP package for March 2017 has yet been made available. When is this to happen? Then, by means of the latest updates from MS, some files from Extended XP may have to be changed again. Here the continuity is missing, so that interested users can test at all and report errors. It is not useful if an Extended XP package appears from March as if in April, by updates of MS, possibly files are overwritten. As tests do not lead to any desired result, but only to chaos.
  15. Just download it again from my links.
  16. My favorite was and still is the Google Chrome (with as far as possible manually updated component), here mainly because of the sandbox technology, which is an additional security aspect. Of course, as a second Firefox browser, where a sandbox technology is now implemented, too late for Windows XP users. The Firefox browser because it has its own certificate management and web pages open with modern encryption methods (ECC). The latter problem due to the encryption can now be solved with a local HTTPS proxy, based on Python (now there is an official project at Github for the support of TLS 1.3), which also has its own certificate management, which is also on Google Chrome again open the web pages with more modern encryption methods.
  17. by this Download here and was announced here
  18. When you download MSE_DEF_UPD_v1.5.exe, a WinRAR-packed file is downloaded that is protected by a password. This WinRAR archive contains the following files: 1. Info.txt Info and Parameter for "Microsoft Security Essentials Definition Updater" v1.4 / v1.5 2. MSE_DEF_UPD_v1.4.exe is for test purposes only 3. MSE_DEF_UPD_v1.5.exe to be able to install the Definition updates again 4. MSE_DefUpdater_TaskMan.exe Setup for a small updater where the WU/MU routine is used by MSE. (Works only if the POSReady key is present in the registry.) 5. Readme first.txt This file should be read first!
  19. The question was aimed at the included program (MSE_DefUpdater_TaskMan.exe) in the MSE Definition Updater 1.5 package, where the Definition refreshes at intervals, which unfortunately does not work for them. Then we wait to see how this develops.
  20. This was a hard birth, I am glad that it finally still worked. Are there still updates related to the help of the POSReady key in the registry?
  21. @mo832 Then set the definition files of MSE back with mse_updater 1.5 (reset the antivirus update engine), then update the defintion (update the virus definition for MSE).
  22. @mo832 Try the method where all files with the ending vdm and dll, from the unpacked mpam-fe.exe, into the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Definition Updates\Updates" copy. Do not run MpSigStub.exe, in 1-2 minutes then start the update process from MSE. When the process is complete, the previously copied vdm and dll files that are needed are no longer present in the folder "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Definition Updates\Updates", in which case the remaining files can be deleted.
  23. @mo832 Quite simply I have still found a way, for the users who want to download the definition itself, where no MpSigStub.exe is needed!
  24. I also have an installer (Works only if the POSReady key is present in the registry!) for a small updater attached to the MSE Definition Updater 1.5 package where the WU/MU routine is used by MSE and is run via the Task Manager every 60 minutes. Microsoft Security Essentials Definition Updater package @dencorso By the way, I have pointed out yet another possibility how MSE gets the definition installed. Apparently gone under.
  25. There are several options, one is simply to unpack the downloaded definition file and simply copy the .vdm and .dll files to the following directory. C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\Definition Updates\Updates After about 1-2 minutes it processes MSE and is again current, completely without MpSigStub.exe. What I do not understand is that they download about 140 MB every day where there are also Delta updates.
