RT7Lite can't seem to make a working Win7 ISO. Windows Setup crashes every time. I'm not removing any components, only integrating updates and changing a few basic settings, like disabling some services. Nothing unattended either. Using build RT7Lite 1.7.0 on Win7 x64 Home Premium.

I've got the crash bug when adding multiple update .msu files. I'm using version 0.5.0c on Win7 SP1 x64. I tried adding the .msu files one at a time, but it only allows one file period. Adding a second file causes the same crash. log.txt.zip

Just an FYI, Intel has enabled AHCI with their latest chipset drivers, version 9.1.1.1025. No more need to manually enable the Microsoft generic sata driver. I had to manually update each component via device manager, as setup wouldn't do it for some reason. I have the G33/ICH9 chipset and it works fine. Someone probably already mentioned this, but I'm not going to read 13 pages to find out.

You can easily disable Bitlocker by simply setting the Bitlocker Drive Encryption Service to disabled and stopped. You could also stop and disable the TPM Base Services service as the Bitlocker service uses it for every mode except one.

I'm having the login cookie issue as well with Firefox 3.6 on Win7 Home Premium x64. Above fixes about temp files and cache don't work. Haven't bothered trying IE.

Grab a freeware copy of Alcohol 52% and the free mp3 plugin, and rip your protected cd directly to unprotected mp3 files. Try using TeraCopy. It makes a huge difference as it uses it's own engine to get the job done, plus it's freeware. I can move 30gigs between 2 sata drives in about 5 minutes with it. http://www.codesector.com/teracopy.php

Router placement can make a big difference. The house itself can also have an impact on signal strength, especially if the studs are steel. Placing the router as close to the center of the house and near the ceiling would be a good idea if possible. Make sure wireless adapter drivers are up to date. The type of antenna used on both the router and each client pc also makes a difference. There's omnidirectional and dipole antennas. With a dipole antennae, which most consumer level wireless gear comes with (far as I know), the signal is in the shape of a toroid, so the signal strength is best at right angles to the antennae, so all antennas should be pointed straight up. The WDM folder should be XP only. A great way to determine which of those folders you need is to extract the drivers from the same system using a tool like Driver Magician Lite. Then you just compare the extracted files with those of your driver packages. http://www.drivermagician.com/Lite.htm

Did you enable the raid controller in the bios? Do the drivers install if you use F6?

Access the bios and enable the onboard video. Once back in Vista with the onboard video's drivers installed, completely uninstall the HD3450 from device manager. Probably shouldn't remove Catalyst, as both video cards most likely use the same package. Then reboot, go into the bios and disable the onboard video. Vista should take it from there.

I can't help with your tool, but I can tell you there are plenty of tools already available that do the same job, some free, some not. Also, you can't depend on the .inf file to get a complete file list of a particular driver. Most of the time you can, but not always. I'm pretty sure it was Nvidia's GeForce drivers awhile back that I discovered this with. I don't remember specific versions, but it was consistent across several consecutive releases. Think it was in the late 170.xx series. There was a single file not listed in the .inf that would get installed and without it, there would be errors. Don't remember the name of the file though, as it's been a long time since I've bothered working with drivers in that manner. I think my Realtek lan driver had the same issue as well.

Despite what the guide says, you don't have to put each driver in it's own folder. Many drivers can be dumped in the same folder, like monitor drivers. And thanks to unified drivers, like Realtek audio or Nvidia graphics, you can use many of the same packages across different hardware. I haven't made one for 13 different machines, but I did one for 4 and it worked fine.

Try removing all traces of the Dell and Red Chair software from Windows, including the DJ driver, then reboot. Then install the Dell software only and connect one DJ. If you can access it, then try connecting each remaining DJ to a different usb port, one at a time. Probably won't work, but you never know. I don't know what else to try.

I recently tried MSE on Win7 x64. After updating it, my system immediately began hesitating and pausing like something was using up every possible resource, yet hard drive access was minimal. The mouse pointer was stuttering across the screen when I moved it. I'd click something, and there was a delay of about 2 seconds. I didn't bother checking task manager, I just uninstalled MSE and the odd behavior ceased instantly. I won't bother with it again. And no, I didn't have any other sort of anti anything running, as MSE automatically disabled Windows Defender upon install, and I don't use antivirus apps so there was nothing to interfere with MSE.

EasyBCD is good for editing the bootloader, but I don't know if it can fix anything.

I think you mean Red Chair Software. I used Duebox Explorer with my gen 1 DJ until I got a Sansa Fuze recently. Have you tried updating the firmware on those units or changing the driver mode from the Duebox tray icon? Those Dells are flaky as hell no matter what you do really, especially tagging. I always had problems with mine. Do yourself a favor and get rid of all of them for something newer and non-Dell.

Do yourself a favor and don't even try to integrate every DriverPack available. It's pointless and will probably cause problems. There's simply too much data there. The DriverPacks are just as effective on their own disc, or better yet their own folder on a flashdrive. If you must have drivers install unattended for any number of machines, then you should learn to manually work with just those drivers, and add them to the $OEM$ folder structure with the appropriate entries in winnt.sif.

A combination of Spybot Search & Destroy and MalwareBytes Anti-Malware should remove all traces of Virtumonde. I recently had to use both apps to remove a similar infection called Fraud.Sysguard from my mom's computer. What Spybot missed, MalwareBytes caught and the problem was solved.

Have you tried that adapter on an XP or Vista machine? Did it work? It's possible your adapter is DOA.
