seriously doesnt look bad, but I somehow wanna know how that one looks in Win10 (taken from Win8) ... I did some serious styling with classic theme restorer and stylish and I cant wait for Aero on Win10 to keep it short, there is close to NO part that is not transparent in any way (only being some pparts of gradients like on the active tab or the text and obviously the webpage itself...) especially if there aint any visible problems, why not change to the next stage of the software especially when BM already said that this software is experimental in general and could stop functioning at any time, so why do this selected testing anyway?

I wonder whether or not my FF looks as beautiful as it does on Win8 with it's aero enhanced style...

for starters try to remove the AeroGlass folder in your system drive (normally being C:)

get a list of your needed programs and try a refresh, i dunno how it was in 80, but according to the guide you had to do some reg changes, try to undo them, maybe with that you dont need the refresh...

try to remove teh aeroglass folder. it should be rmdir C:\AeroGlass or alike...

I hope they dont, aero4win8 is way better than the Win7 Aero which is way too stiff, and MS will probably make it even stiffer if it came back, while in BM's aero, I can customize EVERY little aspect, especially I can shut off blur...

but when something tries to auto execute from a drive by, or something that shoudlnt require admin permissions does exactly that, then it can help. my foster father is really bad with PCs and I said to him that when he sees this then something wants administrative permissions and if he doesnt expect it he should click no and tell me. and it also is nice since you can run something as admin without either switching accounts or do some 720 degree rotations just to run your online game...

if you ask me windows should go Back to the XP times where you could customize pretty much every pixel of your system... but they should keep Aero glass, I really like that... also since we are talking about classic shell, anyone an Idea how I can edit the Windows Aero Theme to move the shutown button above the user pic?

To be honest, I like the UAC quite a bit, especially since it's less annoying than a superuser request in Linux where I always have to enter my pass while in win I only have yes and no while being an admin and the idea of not letting the admin permissions get out of control is nice imo But truly the implementation is far sway from perfect.

I will try that later... tried it, thanks, now it looks really Epic... for inactive I whited my usual green tone a bit out and it looks splendid.

hey BM, you told me that I can set the transparency for inactive windows according to your guide, but even if I have that driven up to ff, like in ff000000 (complete black) I still have very transparent inactive windows, you know why?

and the best thing is classic shell is that when you have an overly filled folder (like my Downloads) you can scroll in then via mousewheel/touchpad gesture, while in the Win7 startmenu you had to got to the top and bottom edges of the menu and wait, since the scrolling was also really slow...
