  1. but just a question, can the symvols not be directly fetched from the system? if it would be possible it would make things easier. but I seriously wanna test this (while staying on 9840 or whatever it was, lets say preview version 2, or short p2) but BMs requirement is kinda like a chicken and egg like thing, I mean the requirement is to feedback in the dev stage, but without being able to use it you cannot givee feedback. also even the "stable" build is "highly experimental and could break with any update" according to BM, so I dont see the point in limiting the testers...
  2. the other build is in pc settings - restore/update -> preview builds (or alike) you wont find it in the cntrol panel. btw just try to start classicstartmenu.exe if you havr it already installed and if not try compatibility mode...
  3. well since my mouse was often empty I often had to use the keyboard, but the Keyboard mouse feature isnt as nice as a real one...
  4. well just saying, I got more into Keyboard at the time when I had a wireless mouse and I had to swithc batteries every week which was annoying especially when I hadnt any batteries left, so I learned Keyboard shortcuts. also on the Laptop I am primarily using the touchpad (but I only use touchpads that are "fitting" for me) but also the Keyboard...
  5. hello. I have a server2008r2 in a test environment along with a Win7,8 and some opensuse 13.1 machines and I want to make a unified logon system with password sync and everything. on the 2008 I have an AD, NIS, NFS and Windows share server and the problem is that when I want to use the password sync from AD to NIS I have the problem that the sync lags one password behind. when I create a user with no pasword and change the passwords to password A B and C each being a different password I pretty much get the following password used- login on windows - Unix <empty> - cant login -> ypcat passwd gives some "random" string out that is no hash or anything "ABCD!efgh12345$67890" to be exact (withou quotes) A- A - cant login ("dead hash" from above) B - B - can login with A md5/crypt from A B (again) - B - can login with B (md5/crypt) C - C - can login with B (md5/crypt) and so on, in short when windows had the 11th password change, linux gets the 10th password, or always the one before the change, so to make it consistent, you'd have to change your password twice -> annoying as hell what could be at fault for this? could it be the fact that this thing only has 2GB of RAM (not funny, I know, butI cant change it for this test env) UPdate: I actually got some ram for it and it seemingly resolves th issues.
  6. the potential exists... btw wouldnt it be nicer to discuss the Win10 related thing in a seperate thread, so the bugreports for Win8 dont drown in all the Win10 things (and vice versa)...
  7. are yoou serious? you dotn need to uninstall it, just go to desktop -> rightclick -> personalization and choose the win8 theme (dont forget to save your theme by rightclicking it so you can revert)
  8. Then just try it. And I dont say you should return to 8.0 but just change the theme to the default one.
  9. but back to qour main question: does tthat error occur with the default Win8 style?
  10. But the other style i lonked does not have this problem also there were some small disturbances in cmd and Firefox borders. The other theme doesn't have this as well.
  11. how does it work when you disable his theme? imo his theme did have some problems, so i decided against it for this one: http://damonkeyoncrack.deviantart.com/art/Aero7-V2-for-Windows-8-8-1-10-TP-429412929
  12. the theme is Win8 standard as far as I can tell, the start menu could be classic shell and for the blur see the guide on http://glass8.eu also seemingly te taskbar does blur itself with this software, unlike in the guide, dont ask me why, just happened when I enabled transparency...
