I don´t have many dll with japanese resource. I only have ime files and some files of net framework with japanese resources. BTW: where did you get netfx11.msi which is present inside exkernel DXSETUP.cab? I wanted to replace with DEU file, but I only could find netfx.msi DEU. If I rename into netfx11.cab and put into DXSETUP.cab, the other net patches will not install and also net 2.0 will not install. I made experiment with cmd.exe and process explorer on 2 machines: 1. Machine has installed w2k vanilla and then installed exkernel DVD DEU files (only replaced files). Most files are versions same as exkernel DVD. 2. Machine installed with exkernel DEU DVD. Machine 1 will show DEU context menu of cmd.exe. Machine 2 shows japanese characters. Machine 1: If I look at lower pane of cmd.exe, it will show advapi32.dll, ctype.nls, gdi32.dll, kernel32.dll, locale.nls, msvcrt.dll, ntdll.dll, rpcrt4.dll, sortkey.nls, sorttlbs.nls, unicode.nls and user32.dll. Machine 2: shows same files. If I open Poperties in DEU cmd context menu on Machine 1 (console.dll), lower pane will show also comctl32.dll, console.dll, lz32.dll, msctf.dll, msctf.dll.mui, ole32.dll, oleaut32.dll, shell32.dll, shlwapi.dll and version.dll If I open properties in JAP cmd context menu on Machine 2 (console.dll), lower pane shows also comctl32.dll, console.dll, shell32.dll and shlwapi.dll, but will NOT show lz32.dll, msctf.dll, msctf.dll.mui, ole32.dll, oleaut32.dll and version.dll. If I now close cmd.exe, wait little time (process explorer running) and start it again, cmd context menu is changed like magic and shows DEU characters like machine1. This is stable, also with reboot no japanese characters any more. Still lower pane of process explorer will not show lz32.dll, msctf.dll, msctf.dll.mui, ole32.dll, oleaut32.dll and version.dll. Very strange, isn´t it??? Do you have explanation for this? I found out that net 1 SP3 will not install with exkernel DVD. Which file is it? There are no error messages with: ECHO .NET 1.0SP3 FIX copy gacutil.exe "%SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705" REM "%SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\gacutil.exe" /il %SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\assemblylist.txt "%SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\Copy2Gac.exe" /i /f:%SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\assemblylist.txt /p:%SystemRoot%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v1.0.3705\ /ri:"Microsoft.NET v1.0.3705" /rd:"Microsoft.NET Framework assembly" /q But if I view net cleanup tool LOG, it lists up: Net1.0: installed with no SP Net1.1: installed with SP1 Net2.0: installed with SP2 Net3.0: installed with SP2 Net3.5: installed with SP1 Plz tell me if this is like it should be. Greetings Joe

Soory, I mean context menu OF command prompt window. With right click I can open prefs (color, font, memory,...) or mark, copy, paste text. Menu items: Close Edit -------------------> Check Standard Copy Properties Paste Check all Scroll Find are japanese.

Hi. I cannot prove md5 or sha-1, because I exchanged a lot of files inside the cab with DEU ones. So I solved it with: ECHO PowerShellv2.0 extrac32 /y /e /l .\ KB968930.cab > nul del KB968930.cab KB968930\UPDATE\update /passive /norestart Now it installs. I could solve most of the problems, DEU exkernel DVD is almost done. Remaining problems: *mmc snap in error with msinfo32. But: Once loaded into mmc with mmc.exe and saved, it will work and only show error message after closing. I have error message in eventview (ID 3009): "strings of performance indicators for ServiceModelEndpoint 3.0.0.0 could not be installed". *defender error (I don´t think there is a solution for this) *funny error: cmd context menu (pops up on right click on top of the window) shows japanese characters; I cannot find out the reason. I did not find these strings in registry, and there are also not present in resources of the files I examined. Do you know which files contain these context menu items? Greetings Joe

@ blackwingcat Please, help with installing powershell with exkernel german dvd. I have error messages with cmd install: some fonts could not be found in winnt directories ... So I made experiment after installation: 1) Placed kb968930 in directory X:\XXX\XXX cmd to directory X:\XXX\XXX: MKDIR KB926140-v5 -> OK. ren kb968930.cab kb968930.exe -> OK. kb968930.exe /C /T:"%CD%\KB926140-v5" -> ERROR message: "The program is too big for memory" What does this mean? What kind of EXE is kb968930? I also tried kb 968930.exe /C /T:"X:\XXX\XXX\kb926140-v5" -> same ERROR message too big for memory. Can you give advice how to go on?

Of course I will test next videoprt.sys. Download link for ahci (I looked into the files - not ahcix86, new name "amd_sata.sys". I don´t know if it is worth trying, but you could have a look on it: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset=?os=Windows%XP%20-%2064 More interesting if we could use a win7 driver, special version for sb9xx exists: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/chipset=?os=Windows%2010%20-%2064 Question: is it theoretically possible that we use 64bit drivers with PAE in w2k? JosefReisinger replied to AnX's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
Yes, it worked out. With v6833, no vga.sys error message. Installation was OK. THX! Next problem: I wonder why ASMEDIA USB3 has to be deactivated in bios for avoiding BSOD in gui mode setup although the driver was slipstreamed. After setup, it can be installed without problems. AMD Ahcix86 3.3 seems to be a little buggy with PAE and 32GB RAM. Without PAE, I can run AS SSD Benchmark without problems and it shows reading around 500MB/s. With PAE, I get SYSTEM.IO.IOException from Framework2, the test file cannot be accessed, because it is "used by another process". Are there suitable drivers for sb9xx ready for w2k? Greetings Joe -

JosefReisinger replied to AnX's topic in Windows 2000/2003/NT4
@blackwingcat, Yes, I use 5.0.2195.6838 videoprt.sys (put in DRIVERCAB and win\system32); vga.sys is 5.0.2134.1 from source. I use latest excore. NOTE: I had this problem before with ASUS R752LD Notebook and different versions of exkernel DVD; I also had the problem with Macbook pro (but not as frequent as ASUS). Usually the problem could be overcome with booting into XP on partition2, and reboot into exkernel DVD. Then, the installation did not show "vga.sys is corrupted" any longer (STRANGE, isn´t it?). I also tried to start the installation again after vga error message without booting into XP, then "vga.sys is corrupted" will be shown again and again (I tried 10 times). Once I boot into XP, reboot into installation -> message "vga.sys is corrupted" is gone. But now, with M5A99FXPro R2.0, the problem cannot be solved that simple with booting into XP (I also installed on second partition on this machine). I only could go through the txtmode setup once of 20 or more attempts, but unfortunally BSOD with usbport.sys (I did not integrate ASMEDIA USB3 driver and w2k wanted to install asmedia with standard usb2). The installation seems to run many times faster if "vga.sys is corrupted" is NOT shown. I wonder if the reason of this could be using SSD instead of HDD (I use OWC Merury Extreme 6G SSD). Partition table is msdos made with pcmagic linux dvd providing proper alignment. Any ideas? Greetings, Joe -

Thx. Did you encounter "vga.sys is corrupted" in txtmode Setup? I have this problem with blackwingcats exkernel DVD, but not always; sometimes it works, sometimes not. I have Nvidia Geforce 960 GTX like you. -

Hello AnX, I also have this motherboard now and want to slipstream the AMD AHCI Driver for VEN_1002&DEV_4391&SUBSYS_84DD1043. Which version did you pick (there are 3.1.1540.25 and 3.1.1540.127, also 3.1.1548.155 and 3.2.1540.53)? I inspected all of the inf´s, but could not find my subsys id. Greetings Joe -
Thx again. I got WindowsLU-KB923845-INTL.exe from WLU. But there is only small difference in update.inf "update short title". So I don´t think it is necessary to change update in DEU exkernel DVD, isn´t it? Greetings Joe P.S. Did you find time to examine ISO file?
-
@blackwingcat Thank you for briefing! Should I also replace udate.ver, update.exe, spunist.exe and spupdsvc ? I did not find WindowsLU-KB923845-INTL.exe in WLU updates. I want to integrate, too. Can you provide a link, please? I have problem with new d3d9 v5.3.2195.5514 and skype6. If I go to "video settings" skype is closed unexpectibly without error message. Same with video calls or sound test service. If I go back to d3d9 v5.4.2195.5513, no problem. Logitech webcam software works without problems with new d3d9, also no problem with dxdiag. Installation of new dx files: I only copied extracted dx files into system32 and ran EXKDXCNF.exe (DX9Extension enabled, Registry version DX9). Did I miss something or is it a bug in d3d9? Greetings Joe

@blackwingcat I want to integrate the new Windows2000-KB971913-v3-x86-INTL into german exkern hfslip DVD. How should I do it? Can I place in HFEXTRACTED instead of Windows2000-KB971913-x86-INTL? Greetings Joe

I applied, the error is gone, everythings fine. Thank you!

@blackwingcat, I localized exkernel28c. kernel32.dll v7243 refuses to work with k-meleon75.1. If I start k-meleon, message: "The command 0x77ec71fe references memory in 0x77ec71fe. The operation "Written" could not be done. Click Yes to close or Cancel to debug." If I go back to kernel32 v7238, no error. I have attached the error log file. Perhaps you can have a look on it. Hi. I rebased GDI32 to 77F50000, it is satisifed with this address and will load there (I have to test it further with different applications running, but all other exkernel files remain on their base until now). Exception is again rsaenh. It loads now 00C60000. Should I rebase it, too? I now make hfguirunonce and add my programs etc. I have a problem with german environment and - REM Security set content= > reg2.reg secedit /configure /db secedit.sdb /cfg %systemroot%\security\templates\hisecdef.inf /verbose After installation I have an error 489 with ESENT, message: could not open \WINNT.0\HFSLIP\secedit.sdb Should I add copy to %systemroot%\security\Database ? Thank you for your help, Greetings

Thank you for explanation. So I know it is better to copy the whole resource table instead of changing the lines one per one and filling in the german contents - it seems to be much easier and less time consuming! I examined the load address of the exkernel files in german environment. I could not do it with depends, because it always will show actual base "unnkown", so I did it with process explorer. There are 2 files which load different than preferred base in DEU environment: GDI32.DLL and the new RSAENH.DLLv6924. RSAENH has base address 68000000 in ENU and DEU, but it will load 00CB0000 on up and running system. GDI32 should load 77F40000 in ENU and DEU, but loads different in different processes, e.g. 00170000 or 00230000 or 00260000. I made a table with all of the exkernel files with "base address ENU", "base address DEU" and "LOAD address in DEU system". Also msvcirt_vista.dll is suspect, because it has same base address than kernel32_DEU.dll (but I did not use it yet and it was not loaded). Please, if you would be so kind and have a look on the attached table and tell me what to change. Greetings Joe BWC kb935839 v26b5G Dateien mit vista.doc

Problems are gone now with your fixed file. Can you tell, what was the problem? Do you think the Restorator program is buggy? I want to know, because it will not be the last time changing resources... PLZ explain the broken shell32. I have a second problem when using the (rebased and resource changed) kernel32 v7238. I did not have this problem with v7236 I used before. W2k complains after installation that "kernel32 had to be moved in memory because of gdi32". I did neither change the base address of kernel32 or gdi32. Kernel32 is based DEU 77E70000, gdi32 has same ENU and DEU base 77F40000. To solve it, I changed gdi32 to 77F50000 and the message is gone. Is this a good idea or would you recommend different? Greetings Joe

@ blackwingcat Hi. I examined resources of shell32. I use Restorator v3.7.1747 to see and change resources ENU => DEU. There is no difference between REGINST resources of all the german versions, but between ENU and DEU there is a slight difference, if I load into Restorator: The binary datas are different. For example ENU resource is: HKLM,"%PATH_EXPLORER%\RecentDocs","ViewStream",1,\ 1C,00,00,00,04,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,58,00,\ 03,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,\ DEU version is: HKLM,"%PATH_EXPLORER%\RecentDocs","ViewStream",1,\ 1C,00,00,00,04,00,00,00,\ 00,00,00,00,00,00,58,00,\ 03,00,00,00,01,00,00,00,\ So DEU version is without line feed between the data lines. I alwalys changed according to DEU version and deleted the line feeds. Known result: problems with %_MOD_PATH%. Now I made new DEU shell32.dll out of your exkernel v7190 with Restorator, and now I kept the spaces between the lines. Result after installing: I cannot use the start button any more, nothing is displayed in explorer, search function in explorer will work (but link with iexplore and display "the page could not be found"). So localizing the reginst resource seems to be a littly bit tricky in shell32. When copied into a running system, the shell32 works like a charm. Please, help again! I will upload the shell32v7190 file with all changed DEU resources and changed base, but binary data according to ENU version. If you would be so kind and test the file. Greetings Joe PS: localizing your W2k DVD image is almost done, only HFGUIRUNONCE is left. I will upload it, too, for further testing.

1) I could install Windows 2000 with halacpi on Macbook pro 6.2. Everything is working, but devmgr does not show vga Adapter, and pci root port is code 12 (conflicting with vga Card). I googled around and found that this Problem exists also for win7 and win8. The usual Workaround is to do: "bcdedit /set pciexpress forcedisable". Does anybody here know a workaround for w2k/nt (boot Switches) or other hacks (registry)? 2) I could install nvidia graphics driver with standard hal, but with this hal, I have usb problem. The System is very slow, and mouse is almost uncontollable, jumping around. If I want to write E with usb Keyboard, it turns out EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE. Anyone encountered such a Problem? Greetings Joe

@UberGeek451 Did you solve the Problem? I have the same problem with Video Card in Macbook Pro 6.2 Greetings Joe

@blackwingcat Last official version of shell32 is v7080 from kb908531. It has different base than v6705, which is included in HFSLIP\Source. Base is 7CF90000 -v7080. Base is 77580000-v6705. Also Resource REGINST could be different at first sight (i have to look into this longer). I managed to exchange files ENU->DEU in HFCABS, next step is to localize MDAC (half done). I found out that there are newer driver files available in DEU version than present in SOURCE, which are not exchanged with your DVD image: *atmarpc.sys v6927 *dmboot.sys v6780 *fdc.sys v6942 *lpfltdrv.sys v7034 *kbdclass.sys v6875 *nbf.sys v6866 *netbt.sys v7044 *ohci1394.sys v6920 *pci.sys v7035 *pciidex.sys v6883 *pcmcia.sys v6884 *rasl2tp.sys v6736 *tape.sys v6995 *tdl.sys v6882 *w2ifsl.sys v7029 Do you recommend to place these into HFSLIP\SYSTEM32\drivers or did you find one or more of them are buggy and I should avoid them? Greetings Joe

_MOD_PATH and _SYS_MOD_PATH are both resources of shell32 and written into the registry on install. _MOD_PATH It refers to activeX control. Greetings
-
@blackwingcat mine is only %_MOD_PATH%, not %_SYS_MOD_PATH%. Regsvr32 themeui.dll does not solve it. Do you have other idea which file should I regsvr? Greetings
