"round/truncates" it doesnt rounf b/c then it could round down, if talking to idiots then u can tell them it rounds dowm but rly it truncates which means that if there is a fractional part, ex:3.87 ,then the decimal is just cut off and the result would be 3
well kinda yes, only b/c the hard drives write on their disks from the outside to the inside and it reads the outside faster than the inside. so in the hdd that u have now, the files that are in the inner part of the disk will read slower than if they were on the outer part of the disk. i would go for the extra drive tho, and partition it and have the OS in a 5-10 gb partition on the outermost part of the disk so that ur comp will boot fast. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=40223
if u look on newegg the 6800 pci-e is about 100$ more than the agp and, probabaly b/c there are not too many pci-e cards out compared to agp and astalavista, nice guide for unattended install, i just read and it makes stuff easier to understand and for the raiding http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=40223 well i found some nice WD hdd's and would it be better for me to get 2 180's and then should i use raid 0 or 1? or should i get 3 80's and use raid 5 (my mobo dont support 3)? does ne1 have some benchmarks or sumtin to support raid b/c i have searched goolge and ppl say there isnt that much of a performance increase
it is pci-e, what sucks is that for the 6800gt's the pci-e are 100$ more than the agp. ill look into the ram some more and for the hdd's, the 250 is plenty for me for now, i dunno where i would be going with 500gig, thx
LINK i finally think i have my comp figured out, expecially since i got a whole lot more $, sumwere from 2300-2500$ so plz give ne suggestions on the comp. also dont try the links on the page above, im too lazy to change em
well i havnt actually partitioned yet and one of those sites said that there is no feature in windows yet for partitioning, so try googling for one, it will probably suck tho and it might screw up ur system files.
well i dont see anything wrong, i have office 2003 and for some reason urs looks clearer than mine does, lol. but im also using a 32 mb card right now. also why did u get a sapphire? they arnt all that good from reviews that ive read.
ide try setting the burn speed to 4x, maybe even 2x and see if that works instead of automatic or whatever u have it on, also what comes up when u try to burn, ex: error message
for those of u wondering about partitioning ur hdd, read these great articles on it: http://www.theeldergeek.com/hard_drives_01.htm http://partition.radified.com/
i have 1 sata hdd and i was wondering if i got a 2nd sata hdd, how would i set it up so that both would work? so basically what i wasnt to do is just to have 2 hard drives in 1 computer.
wow, 350$ for that processor, and it will only go about 3.2 ghz, and just to let u know it is almost pointless to get a 64 bit processor until about 2 yrs from now when most companies start creating 64 bit programs.
