  1. Lol....let's get something straight. I don't *NEED* these apps. They are here for convenience. Yes, weather is on a website. So is Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, etc. I use the apps for convenience and for how they look. The new Facebook app coming out for Win10 soon should be real nice. Twitter had a nice clean overhaul and I love the UI of the Weather app.

I also use Prism Bill Pay for paying ALL of my bills in one place. There is no website for their service.

There are hundreds of thousands of apps out there that people use because they prefer it over the website version or because of the app's convenience or even that it may work on their phone as well.

Anyway, this thread is getting derailed...I did not post about the modernframe bugging out so we could start a flame war on modern apps and why we should/shouldn't use them. I posted it to show BM so we may look toward a fix to help make his AG utility look more "first-party" to Windows 10.

    So back on topic, please.

  2. Here is a pro tip for you all, stop using ModernFrame.dll, it's one thing to add back trasnsparency to the explorer window frames, it's another to try forcing the modern apps to use a completly different UI.

Not helpful. BM developed it and requests feedback on it. I give it and you tell everyone to stop using it? You know how much sense that makes?

Here's an ultra-pro tip:  Stop using Apps; it's one thing to create an operating system, it's another to create an App Store delivery system using a completely different UI that doesn't have any merit over the desktop.

If nobody chooses to use it, we won't be stuck with it.

Not sure if trolling. A lot of the apps I use are beneficial.

It's 2016 and we can't have a Windows UI that's uniform? I, of course, blame Microsoft for all of this. Thousands have told MS what we want and what needs to be fixed (in regards to Aero and the rest of the UI) and its ignored. Ive even tweeted Gabe AND got a response from him asking for screenshots of people who want Aero. I showed him, then got nothing back. Hell, we STILL can't even use custom themes without some BS hacks, third-party services, etc.

  3. oh ok I see

Strange I 'm using aeroglass 1.4.5 and still have those hamburger menus on modern apps ( groove, weather, movies & tv etc )

    Running windows 10 pro x64 ( build 10586.36 )

This is not the same case. The hamburger menu in Groove & Photos is NOT built-in to the Titlebar. For a better example of what I mean, check the Facebook app, Prism Bill Pay, etc. If you click in the corner where the hamburger menu should be, the menu itself shows but no actual icon. Clicking blank space basically.

  4. You do know nothing is really transparent, it is just the way it is drawn. But, I do not see that. Here is what I see.

Yes, I know that nothing is transparent...its just the word I chose to use. Not the point. Point is, what you see is not what I see. If I open the Start Menu over say...Cyberfox, I could see the football game I had playing behind it through the Start Menu. It isnt happening now when Im trying to reproduce it...it just seems kinda random.

When you say "this window", are you viewing the web page in Edge?  I'm just wondering that perhaps a non-desktop application window doesn't register the same as a desktop window to the Aero Glass algorithms.

    -Noel

When I had it happen, it was when I opened the Start Menu over Cyberfox and had NBC Sports Live Extra playing behind it. It also happened when I opened it up over Skype and had LogMeIn Rescue Technician Console behind it. I could see part of LMIR instead of Skype.

  5. On 1.4.5, I have a weird issue. If I open the start menu over a window, I can see the contents BEHIND that window instead of the window the start menu is over...like xray vision or something.

If I were to open the start menu over this browser window, I would be able to see Skype behind it through the start menu.

    Anyone else have this issue?

  6.

Not yet out symbols for TH2 , but manually download I use this script, for it you need to download the SDK for Win 10

    symbols.cmd

    MKDIR %userprofile%\appdata\local\temp\dlls

    CD C:\Windows\System32

    XCOPY "dwm.exe" %userprofile%\appdata\local\temp\dlls

    XCOPY "dwmcore.dll" %userprofile%\appdata\local\temp\dlls

    XCOPY "uDWM.dll" %userprofile%\appdata\local\temp\dlls

    CD C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Debuggers\x64

    SYMCHK /r %userprofile%\appdata\local\temp\dlls /s SRV*C:\AeroGlass\symbols\*http://msdl.microsoft.com/download/symbols

    RD /S /Q "%userprofile%\appdata\local\temp\dlls"

Thanks it is out for Th2 as you see on my scrrenshot but can't download from msdn

Hmm, my MSDN shows them. They're almost 800 MB. I think I'm going to wait for the next official Aero Glass build before I try it on 10586.

  7. This build is not intended for working computer. If you don't know how to install it then don't use it.

Lol BM you misunderstand. Ive donated to you for both of my computers so I could use this software. I am not afraid of trying it. My point was is that I use this computer for work and I don't wanna apply any changes like this that could interfere with me working.

With that being said, I'm going to try it on my laptop first and if all goes well, I will install it tonight after work.

This software has been great and I loved it on 8.1. I just have been away from it since Ive been using Windows 10 and was waiting until Win10 was closer to finished to try using Aero again.
