  1. Works well, great work ! Is there a way to install it without an install program, like for the desktop context menu ? (a batch file or something ?) Because if an update comes out this program will still install AGTweaker v1.0.2 since it's packed in the SFX archive ^^
  2. Hosted a mirror of the file on my website, if it can help: http://microzoom.fr/telechargement/DWMHook03.7z
  3. Thanks for appreciating my app. The source code is already available on the first post ^^
  4. Done. I posted a separate thread here : Sorry for the inconvenience, now I won't give any support for the GUI on this thread. I think that he suggested to re-use some Aero Glass code from the release preview and load/hook/use it in the final version instead of rewriting it from scratch.
  5. Download link : AGTweaker-1.3.2.zip [Direct Link] Get the Sources : AGTweaker-1.3.2-Sources.zip [Direct Link] Sources are released under the CCDL license. (why ?) BigMuscle's DLL files are not provided in the same archive so you'll have to download them separately. Upgrading from a previous version : Use the button in bottom right corner of AGTweaker to delete the previously installed DLL. It will probably disable glass and say that's still in use, so restart your computer (with glass disabled), re-launch AGTweaker and press this button again. It should then display "Successfully deleted" and you'll be able to install the new version properly. All Versions : - Version 1.0.0 for Aero Glass Preview 2 [Mirror] First Release. 6. You may use the command-line arguments described here : Command-Line Usage When using command-line arguments, changes are applied silently and the main window does not appear.
  7. Good idea, I applied your regfile on my computer, thanks ! This feature is not bigmucle's fault but mine, AGTweaker's start with Windows feature automatically minimize the opened windows in order to minimize the console window on startup. If you want to remove it, you may open AGTweaker's source code with Visual C# 2010 Express : In program.cs, case "-startup" simply change Toolbox.RestartDWM(true, true); to Toolbox.RestartDWM(true, false); and recompile AGTweaker by pressing F6. You'll find the modified AGTweaker.exe in the bin/Release folder. Once a version without console of DWMLoader is out, I'll remove this feature, of course.
  8. Good news, this preview is even more stable than the previous one On my computer, with ForceBoundingRectangleRedraw activated, some windows have a white title bar. (Or an aero basic title bar, not skinned at all by DWM.) So, after testing I disabled this setting ^^ I updated the customization GUI to fit the new preview : Each GUI version should be used only with the correct preview. This one is for preview 3, do not use it with preview 2. Download link : AGTweaker-1.0.2.zip Get the Sources : AGTweaker-1.0.2-Sources.zip Sources are released under the CCDL license. (why ?)
  9. ... Sorry for having caused such a debate. Apart from that, I updated the GUI to ver. 1.0.1. Changes: - Fixed the two bugs described above - Fully commented the code and sorted it in different source files - Added a command-line usage, see the commands available below Available commands: > AGTWeaker -opacity [0-255] : Set the opacity value, default = 175. > AGTWeaker -blur [0-255] : Set the blur value, default = 30. > AGTWeaker -enable : Enable Aero loading on Windows startup. > AGTWeaker -disable : Disable Aero loading on Windows startup. > AGTWeaker -startup : Start or reload the Aero Glass effect. Download link : AGTweaker-1.0.1.zip Get the Sources : AGTweaker-1.0.1-Sources.zip Sources are released under the CCDL license. (why ?)
  10. It tries to copy itself in this folder when you enable the "Start with Windows" setting. But since you already placed it there, it cant make the file copy and you get an error. I'll fix that, thanks. It stops working if it cannot find the required DLLs, try to copy the two DLL files that come with AGTweaker in C:\DWM\ and it should work as expected. I'll fix that too in the next GUI version, thanks.
  11. I'm glad you like the GUI! For adding settings in Windows Control Panel I found this, if it can help: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/cc144185%28v=VS.85%29.aspx http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc144195%28VS.85%29.aspx
  12. As I had some free time, I coded a GUI : Everything is fully functional including the "Start with windows" setting. It registers the loader as a Windows task with elevated privileges, triggered on windows logon. @Big Muscle: I explicitely mentionned in the about form that you are not the author of this GUI. If you don't approve it, please let me know and I'll remove the download link. Download link for the GUI : AGTweaker-1.0.zip Download link for the Sources : AGTweaker-1.0-Sources.zip Sources are released under the CCDL license. (why ?)
  13. No problem. Glad to see that the misunderstanding is cleared up. After more thought about it, it is true that a background application for handling the tray icon would be a waste of system resources. The main tool should be as light as possible. It might be more appropriate to use a third party tool to customize the transparency or blur. The user would launch it, make the wanted changes and then close it. Example : I'm absolutely not experienced in C + + or DirectX but I know enough C # and Windows Forms to say that it's not very difficult to do. If you want, I may code it for you. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know too
  14. You "approve the idea"? Isn't that for bigmuscle to decide? I think we're thinking too far ahead. I'm sure many things remain to be done and this is still just a very early preview. Sorry, I made a translation mistake (English isn't my first language), I wanted to say, "+1" or "I agree"
  15. I approve the idea of a tray icon allowing to customize the aero properties and load it on startup
  16. Congrats, this new demo is much more smoother and uses much less RAM (22MB vs 180MB for dwm.exe ) Also, customization of the blur/transparency is a great feature! I've set the opacity to 125 and for me that's the best value. The current default blur value of 30 is fine -- tried 15, 20, 25, 35
  17. I added a loop in the program, so it should be able to skip the dialog no matter how long it takes to launch DWMLoader : Regarding the console window, this not possible to hide it because it's attached to the dwm.exe process, which is the window manager. If you hide the window manager, it will freeze the whole screen except the mouse pointer and you'll have to reboot windows ( I tried ) ... The only possible thing is minimizing the console window it in the taskbar. Of course this window is for debug purposes only, it should disappear in the final version ^^ Here is a way to launch the previous loader & minimize all of the windows (again, it's not possible to minimize the window manager itself) : Of course, instead of usign a loader of the loader of the loader, it would probably be wiser to wait until the beta
  18. I was using your app before discovering bigmuscle's one. It was efficient. No blur, but still cool
  19. OK, I'll wait for the final version. Good luck for the bug hunting So that's not possible to skip the message box... Unless... ... I'll launch the preview "not intended for regular use" on windows startup anyway ^^
  20. Hello, thanks for the demo it works perfectly for me. No blinking windows. It's a bit laggy when lots of windows are opened but otherwise, nothing special. here is my D3D11CreateDevice line in my log : D3D11CreateDevice (DriverType = 0, Software = 0, Flags = 169, FeatureLevel = B000, device = 0xEC05E398) Just one thing, would it be possible not to display the popup "Preview Only!!" ? (And the console window ?) It's a bit annoying if I put the application on windows startup :/ Anyway, good job! I registered expressly to post a reply to your thread PS: iTunes can be downloaded from there : http://www.apple.com/itunes/ I can confirm that the iTunes window is totally unvisible, there is just a slight shadow over the window edges showing that itunes window is opened here is a screenshot: http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/8339/itunesshadow.jpg
