  1. Is your UEFI "Secure Boot" setting enabled in BIOS settings ? If so, you'll have to disable it as AppInit_DLL is disabled when secure boot is enabled.
  2. Opacity slider from AGTweaker is for an old version of Glass, use Color Intensity in Personalize panel instead.
  3. Nice trick, WindowsOS!
  4. Support topic for AGTweaker is here:
  5. I may merge your modifications to the main project if you PM them to me. Nice work
  6. Yes in 1.3.1 I fixed that bug, but in 1.3, AGTweaker was writing to "UseNativeBlur " (with a space on the right) instead of "UseNativeBlur" (the correct registry key) So the "UseNativeBlur " key is a leftover from 1.3 and can be safely deleted.
  7. You may be referring to the Aero Glass Tweaker, see link in my signature for more info.
  8. Nice screenshot, this theme is classy By the way, updated the GUI to support v0.9 BETA 3. I did not update the install program as I'm no more allowed to include the DLL files with AGTweaker.
  9. Dowload the 64 bit version and rename it to DWMGlass64.dll, then place it in the same folder as AGTweaker.exe Or download the 32 bit version and rename it to DWMGlass32.dll
  10. Glad to see that your issue is solved. Yes, bigmuscle asked that I don't package his files with AGTweaker so you have to download the DLL by yourself and place it in the same folder. A message box should inform you when you don't have the DLL file :
  11. You need to download DWMGlass from BigMuscle's topic and place the DLL file with the name DWMGlass32.dll or DWMGlass64.dll (depending on your system) in the same folder as AGTweaker.exe Then you will be able to run the tool. EDIT : Just saw that a Beta 3 is out, I'll test it and update AGTweaker if needed
  12. UEFI "Secure Boot" feature from BIOS is preventing Aero Glass DLL from initializing properly. You may have disabled Secure Boot, which has solved your issue Please report the notifications popups to Bigmuscle, and provide your version number of the specified files
  13. Hmm, try using Dlls from ver. 1.2.1 to test Glass v0.7, this should work. (See "upgrading from a previous version" on first post. You can put back device feature to automatic)
  14. Try setting Device Feature Level to DirectX 9.3
  15. You need a custom theme because glow on buttons and rounded corners are not supported by the signed themes provided by microsoft. So yes, patching or using UXStyle is needed.
  16. This should answer your question. Quoted from the first post.
  17. Nice theme, dosprobie! UxStyle and UltraUXThemePatcher crashed my win8 so I'm not using them anymore but I can still use wallpapers & sound sheme adacom: You may use AGTweaker v1.3.1 with dlls from version 1.2.1 to get glass v0.7 with custom resource setting
  18. I don't think that's caused by AGTweaker itself but more likely by DWMGlass. In this case I'm not going to be able to help you... You may try direct2D mode from Beta 1.
  19. Updated the GUI to 1.3.1, this should fix that issue. Thanks for having reported the bug
  20. Exactly, two files are provided with AGTweaker 1.3, one for windows 8 default theme, and another one for windows 8 release preview theme
  21. It renders differently than on my computer, that's a bit strange But you can still see which version is installed so it is not a huge problem, no?
  22. That looks quite good, ORelio. What tool are you using to edit the resources? -Noel Resource Hacker. It allows to view/extract/replace resources in exe, dll, msstyles files. The PNG file you are looking for can be found in the msstyles file at STREAM/983/1033. Once extracted, you can modify it with any image editor and apply the file with CustomThemeResource registry key. -- Or place it back in the msstyles file but you need to patch your system to use modified msstyles so bigmuscle's method is better
  23. Here is a new release of AGTweaker, probably the last one before the final version of BigMuscle's DWMGlass : Changelog : [*] Interface rearranged [*] Fixed registry key for native Blur (thanks CKyHC) [+] Added setting for Narrow window frames (thanks goldi) [+] Added Custom Resource loading [+] More command line settings
  24. Didn't know about the Consumer Preview theme. I still prefer the RP caption buttons, though I'm not sure about licensing, but Release Preview / Windows 7 themes can be easily downloaded from many sites, so I'm not sure that Microsoft cares about it. Providing a default theme resource with your utility is a good idea as Windows 8 default theme is not designed at all for Aero and looks imperfect with glass enabled.
  25. Like this one ? Not to stay too off-topic, tried to use the CustomThemeResource setting and it works well. Managed to modify Release Preview theme using Windows 7 resources to get this : Before : After : Shadow is increased, window borders are more pronounced and the inner edge of window frames is restored. It's close to windows 7 glass effect, while keeping the RP buttons and square corners. B) And of course no patching is needed as this is achieved using CustomThemeResource. Thanks BigMuscle Here are the custom resources, each one can be used only with the corresponding theme : For use with Windows 8 default theme : http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/4826/stardard8win7.png For use with Release Preview theme : http://img829.imageshack.us/img829/2064/rpwin7.png
