what about opera?i think i been to your site n it looks the same true opera has a banner add n firefox don't but firefox needs extensions while opera don't

this is gonna sound crazy but G E T A N E W L A P T O P so winalign is of no use unless u use office apps and the scheduler is useful if you use the windows defragger?

i don't use firefox,i use opera on my laptop,the service pack helped my laptop out also is it worth using Taskmonitor and SchedulingAgent? does winalign help in any way for some speed or something?

but will this vmm32 ask for msdos 8?cuzz i hope not

then explain why when my comp was workin fine with no problems and i put this file where it's sposed to and the next reboot it wants msdos 8.0 n thats windows me before it will start means a format of 98 comp is fairly new only 1-3 months old

yes i do know of memory leaks they can be the cause for the low resources and i suggest only run the apps you need,when i got my laptop it had 3 ram left from 160 and resources were low,after cleaning out the apps i don't use it spedup a bit

well it's a 333 mhz but 66 mhz is taken away so it don't get hot so much,i wonder if adjusting it would be helpful also more ram does help a bit,i think that non cardbus is why it's taking so much,could you replace with a 32 bit cardbus?mine was 25 bucks used,new is 60 bucks,maybe do that if you think it is what the problem is,well when i use 98lite 4.7 i do notice a bit of an improvement,also using ie iradicator allows removal of old ie and can install new ie without the older ie thus preventing a possible conflict

so if i follow that i will dl the full?what if some1 doesen't have internet access to dl it thats what i was getting at

you gotta goto windowsupdate to get ie 6 i tried same thing it said incorrect version or something similar,after going to windows update it installed ie 6 but you need ie to get to windows update

having 33% resources after installing this sp is weird,my laptop a compaq 1235 had all sorts of crap on it till i took it all off,also using 98lite will allow you to remove lots of useless stuff,also install ie 6 that helps 98 on a laptop,i have around 80-90% free resources after installing that sp and after using 98lite that helps,i also have a 3Com 10/100 PCMCIA Ethernet card thats 32 bit and it works flawlessly and btw there is no sp 1.6.3 only 1.6.2,then again yours only has 80 Ram and mine has 160 ram,also if you got lotsa spyware n stuff that will take some resources away

hey since you dled the updates for win me you could upload em to gape n that would help him get a win me sp going faster but this one should include ie 6 with all updates or give a choice to install it or not

i removed ie from windows 98 se and use opera n don't use any ie based apps that need it now you see i am not vulnerable cuzz i have no ie

any progress?maybe it might be a good idea to include ie 6 and it's updates since the only way to get ie for win me is from windows update,the rest don't need it or make it an option to install ie 6

i agree gape not every1 is into stuff like that if most were that be a diff story like for example tweakui,that is very useful for most users if not all users

gape at one was making a win me service pack looks like he will finaly start on it i agree win me need xp or 2000 files for it to work right and you can't install ie 6 on it unless you visit windowsupdate i at one time had me on n i got it pretty good there is an app called system restore remover,maybe add that to it,shouldn't be too hard to find
