Of course it's by design. If you have only modern apps there, you can't pin desktop ones. Go to Taskbar Properties - Jump lists and uncheck 'store and display recently opened items in Jump lists'

Yes. But he says taskbar didn't switch between tasks, which is weird and if it reproduceable, then it's a bug.

Thanks. Although i don't need second to be reproduced, it's fixed already next version. Ask MrGRIM. Windows 7 msstyles can't be used directly, they have to be converted, and uxstyle needs to be used.

Unfortunately there is no way around it for now.

You understand that when you restart explorer elevated it starts other programs elevated thus UAC is effectively off? If you want to browse folders as administrator, enable 'Launch folder windows in separate process' and launch elevated explorer.

I can confirm starting explorer.exe from elevated cmd.exe makes it start without StartIsBack. Must be some cmd.exe compatibility bits. However i don't consider this important at all. StartIsBack works with any UAC settings and with UAC completely disabled (EnableLUA=0).

It's disabled for pinning (even if you try to pin wuapp.exe). As a workaround you can pin some other shortcut and then set its target as 'wuapp.exe'.

That's exactly how it behaves in Win7. But thanks for reporting 'menu stays forcibly open' issue.

I can't reprocuce that. Do you have 'Enable context menus and dragging and dropping' enabled in Start menu properties? Do you have arrows and text describing the drop operation? Does drag&drop works in other shell parts?As for start menu not closing if dropped via start button, that's a good report. Try to find more such occasions when start menu not closing when it should.

What does it show then? Give me a link / screenshots please.

That's not an issue, that's just the lack of special handling for RP. In RTM it looks as intended.Please try to describe flickering. Does only top-left 20x20 corner trigger it? Does flickering happen when you move mouse or when it stays also? Do you have any tweakers installed? Try downloading skip metro suite and check if it running it resolves the issue.

Could you try to find a reproducible case for that issue, or describe when such thing happens? I never saw flickering either.

It's Windows 8 feature. Recycle Bin confirmation is off by default.I found how to fix Windows Server 2012 - exclude StartIsBackCfg.exe from DEP options.

Just select item with keyboard and press F2. F2 is universal hotkey to rename things.

Uhuh. Not sure how to fix that I thought everyone uses F2 to rename.

Wait wait waaaaaait. You're describing exactly unfixed behavior. How it is possible? Can anyone else confirm that renaming pinned programs actually works or doesn't? Okay, works for MrGRiM. How it's broken then? Which file?

Which scenario you consider to be an issue? There would be automatic updates. I plan to make Enterprise Edition after Personal Edition which would be MSI based so it can be pushed to all users via Group Policies painlessly.Don't heat the discussion, you can send me a PM on your thoughts.
