    On W2k 2.2.6 is the highest, and that's only because of blackwingcat's kernelex. I have not tested his very latest kernelex version from March 2019 so it's possible 3.0 works, all anyone can do is try it. If 3.0 is good on XP I stand corrected, it was only tested on W2k and Win7 and 2.2.6 for me is better anyway. It's much preferred over the newer versions.

    A little off topic but for XP\2000 users another alternative to google’s slow and annoying video player rendering with their “new and improved” youtube layout is to stream with VLC player. You probably wouldn’t want to use it very time but when I’m watching a bunch of videos in a row it comes in handy as it's quick and streams flawlessly with no worries of ads. For those interested the last VLC version to work in the older operating systems is 2.2.6, which can still be downloaded off the internet, filepuma has it. And as if google’s constant changing and breaking of their sites isn’t enough, they also apparently relish doing the same to their streaming protocols as well on occasion killing video playing with VLC but mercifully linkfanel at github keeps up with it: https://github.com/videolan/vlc/blob/master/share/lua/playlist/youtube.lua You need to download it raw, make sure its name is youtube.lua and then replace the old one in the app\vlc\lua\playlist folder.

    If Ben Markson's solution works then having the last version shouldn't matter?? For me since I keep the flash dll in the basilisk\browser\plugins folder whitelisting will have no effect, it will only for the IE activex version so I'm going to download version 371 for basilisk, thanks for the link. And thanks for nothing Adobe. :--)

    Thanks for those links, I can bookmark them to test out later. Ruffle emulation is what I had read about and should install in these older FF versions. @Ben Markson That's good to know about the whilelisting, if it holds then I can reinstall 32.0.0.465 back onto Win7, but will be keeping 32.0.0.453 just in case. @InterLinked Not suprising, there are academic sites still using the old Shockwave player so flash will probably be around a while as well.

    Does anyone know of any sites that still use flash? I haven't been able to find any lately but there's probably still some around. For those it might be a good idea to consider keeping an older version for Basilisk since from what I've read Adobe put a time bomb on their last version set to explode Jan 1, 2021. I've got v32.0.0.453 just in case, although there is supposedly a flash emulator available somewhere that will hopefully install in these older FF versions.

    You might want to try looking into installing one of blackwingcat's newer, modified versions: http://blog.livedoor.jp/blackwingcat/archives/571484.html On Windows 2000 I've got the 2010/6/19 Version 10.6a(AGP+HDMI) and webgl works.     That sounds good, I'll give it a try. Thanks to Sampei.Nihira for posting the link. Update: just installed it and now the github pages are coming in. Thanks again since I use that site quite a bit and don't have to rely on quantum. I haven't even bothered to infest my system with any chromium versions.

    Another site I'm having trouble with Serpent 52 on is github, it won't always fully come in, with or without javascript. Sometimes it works but others the page remains blank.     Well I stand corrected, it's very possible that New Moon 27 may perform better than Serpent on my older machine, when I get a chance I'm going to try it. It's the newer one where based on my experience that even if Serpent gets beat in benchmarks it won't be by much. And with Serpent all my useful addons work perfectly and nearly every page renders as good as Quantum so I'm considering the bigger picture.

    For me they're about the same in speed, although Serpent 55 seems to render a little smoother.

    On my older Netvista P4 2.6 that's probably true. Some javascript-intense sites like Twitter barely move when scrolling with the keyboard. On Windows 7 I'm forced to use Quantum. Maybe toggling javascript.options.ion.inlining to true will make a difference. With this newer quad-core i5-3470 Serpent is blazing fast, no matter the site. Compared to what I was using, it's impossible to see how any browser could be much faster.

    It's just the older style that I prefer. The preferences open up in a separate user interface (much easier to work with), the icons are better and the program itself is faster at opening up and retrieving messages. It seems like the newer the version the more sluggish and bloated it gets. As far as the x64 build: wouldn't know whether there's plans to offer that version.

    @Roy, Thanks for your continuing work and upload of mailnews, for me it’s even better than the newer versions for Windows 7+ For some reason though the yahoo account won’t retrieve messages when using the built-in “get messages from all accounts” button command or with the Shift+F5 keyboard shortcut. However, I did find an addon that does: The Get/Send-Button version 5.31. The good part is that it can be configured to make that the default. Why the addon works and not the built-in button or keyboard command I have yet to figure out. Both use the same command to retrieve all account messages simultaneously: goDoCommand('cmd_getMsgsForAuthAccounts');.

    From what I understand New Moon 27 is based on the Firefox 38 codebase while New Moon 28 is Firefox 52. Personally I don't see the benefit of using Pale Moon over the Serpent/UXP version that is offered here for download, for me Serpent does everything I need addon-wise and speed but they both probably have their advantages depending on what the user is using it for.

    So far changing the Other Pages to off option has fixed the search problem for me. We all know this can end at anytime as soon as google finally pulls the plug on the old format but I'll make use of it as long as it's there.

    For those using the good old youtube addon and getting the json txt file download prompt a Russian reviewer (had to translate) suggested toggling in options Page fix methods/Other Pages to off. So far that seems to have worked, although it often goes to the newer format when searching. Wish Google had left youtube alone but nobody ever expected they would . Maybe the anti-trust lawsuit against them will keep them busy for a while :--).

    That was something I always knew about but never used and you're right, it will open files with Word without extracting. For now I've had to disable good old youtube because when I use search from firefox home page it will sometimes open the download box to download json.txt. Very annoying since that is how I go to youtube most of the time. It's obviously a problem the developer is aware of since reviewers have mentioned it.

    @nicolaasjan, That makes it easier than extracting it. You can also directly edit the file with 7-zip within the .xpi and without extraction (it'll open notepad) but sometimes that works and sometimes not as far as corrupting the addon. Better to go with with a program like Notepad++ that's more reliable.

    That might work too. When I do it with notepad I'm getting the same corrupt problem where it won't install.

    The way I do it is to export manifest.json with 7-zip, open it with Microsoft Word then copy the updated code in and import it back into the .xpi addon.

    Anybody else seeing this? When I try to extract today's Win32 UXP there are 17 data errors, including no omni.ja.

    This was a problem I was seeing months ago with UXP but no one else was apparently at the time. Now I'm getting occasional sudden crashes/shutdowns, sometimes with the error box beforehand. I'm suspecting these crashes may be hardware or addon related.
