  1. If you don't know what you need them for, then you probably don't need them. The files all go to different places depending on what they're intended for. For example both my and nolookingca's Slipstream packs are meant to be integrated straight to the i386 folder of your XP SP2 CD.
  2. Wow. I just had a look at the first post. You've done a great job nolookingca, thanks!
  3. ...and plus i've already edited it for him - it's now unlimited ...
  4. PM sent. thaNX. I suppose just dropping file version 5.1.2600.2180 in there might cause more harm than good, eh? Got the PM and replied You could always try the file version 5.1.2600.2180. I doubt it would really do any damage and it would probably work since it's just 1 build different, but I'll just patch your one anyway
  5. Any help hacking tcpip.sys for v 5.1.2600.2179? thaNX Sure. Just send me the file and I'll try to edit so it's unlimited. Yep, the one posted here is exactly the same as the one there.
  6. I'm also sorry for being too agressive and accusing you. I should have been more friendly
  7. Is this the one you're talking about? http://www3.telus.net/_/replacer/ I'll give it a try. Seems really good
  8. Absolutely 100%. If you want to play a game, you need to make sure that you include the DirectX component and it should work. You can also run most applications on XPe
  9. Quite a long while. Chris and I have been working on it since yesterday quite intensively and we're still not finished. As Chris mentioned earlier on in this thread that there is little documentation for this procedure and so since we are writing this tutorial from scratch, but still making it comprehensive it does take a while. Expect the tutorial by the end of this week (no promises made, but a rough guideline).
  10. Exactly as Chris said. For example with XPe you can add Windows Media, .NET Framework, Explorer Shell but with Win PE that's almost impossible (some of it is possible but you will have problems later on). XPe also does not have the same limitations as Windows PE such as rebooting after 24 hours and the 6 process limit. It's fully customizable and more personal, becuase you can add your own drivers, with gives the user more choices.
  11. As Chris said, you can download the evaluation from Microsoft. The tools and database have no time limitation, but all the XP Embedded images you build will have a 120 day timebomb, which gives you plenty time to try XPe (1/3 of the year - 4 months) and then you can always rebuild the image to have another 120 days
  12. Yes, to create an XPe image you would need to use the tools on a Windows 2000, XP or 2003 system.
  13. Do you have a screenshot of it? I would like to see what it looks like.
  14. That's wat I was thinking. Also with Wraith's current version of XPLode, you've got to manually instal each thing and then wait for it to insall before installing the next thing. With this idea, you would jus select what you want and it would be all insatlled and so you could have a semi-unattended install!

    XPdeploy 0.1b

You mean kind of like this? http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showto...ndpost&p=136069
  16. Hello, It's a real pity that XPlode and XPdeploy don't work on XP SP2. Anyway, I hope that it will in RC2 or that the problem will be fixed. I have a few ideas for the next update to XPdeploy. I think that all the options should have little checkboxes next to them and the user can just tick the options they want. Once that is done they click the "Install" button at the bottom of the form and the selected options will be installed. Also if possible, the selected options could be sent to XPlode for installation so the progress of installation can be tracked. Please have a look at the attached picture. >>Zaheer Chothia
  17. I don't know of any, but it would be great if you made one.

    XPlode 1.1+

I'm going to try and help with some documentation. I also don't mind helping with a website. And soon, I will probably also have loads of "skins"/graphics for XPLode!
  19. It needs to add all the registry entries that are included in the report.
  20. Seems excellent...Can't you make two versions available as I love both equally. Maybe you could make it like XPLode, where images are called for the "skins". That way everyone can customize it however they feel like. Also will this be publically released?
