Hey prathampml... Quick ? in regards to the pagefile vbs... Lets say I run this from my runonce and I want my pagefile to be on another hdd instead of on my systemdrive. Do I need to run the delete command 1st, than the create command? Or can I simply use the change command? Thanks.

Im having a brain freeze here... someone help me out... I have 3 Harddrives in my system and 2 cdroms.. 1- OS 1- Storage (d) 1- Split into 2 Partitions (e + p) 1- dvdrom (i) 1- cdrw (j) If I reformat my pc and reload windows, will it keep my drive letters the same as before reformatting? I dont know why I cant think of this... Ive reformatted perhaps 30 times at least, but its been so long since the last time and I just cant remember..... Thanks!

Thats actually not true at all. In fact its recommended to keep the page file on a completely seperate disk from the operating system if possible for best performance.

Sweet... after running the shrinker and raring this badboy up with best compression... went from a 631MB source to 61MB! includes word, excel and outlook too! sweetness.

Without forcing me to read all 24 pages of this thread, could someone summarize exactly what this does? (or perhaps buckeye could update the 1st post with it?) I have the same problem as above... created the mst and ran the shriker and it said something along the lines that the was already complete... but this was the 1st time i ran it. and it left me with an office folder of like 7MB, which doesnt work. thanks. UPDATE: okay... after reading the following from Nomi... I uninstalled office and ran this... its currently working now I think... and by the looks of it this thing works by firing off the office installer without any of the source files (the original 7mb which i mentioned above) then simply copies each file over when the setup prompts for it... heh... kinda neat.

Quick question in regrads to creating the cutsom mst file as shown in the Office2003 advanced guide. The example there assumes youre copying everying to your harddrive.. but I currently install everything from the cdrom using the CDROM variable. Can I simply modify the launch line to something like %CDROM%\Applications\Office2003\setup.exe TRANSFORMS=Unattended.MST /qb- I only ask because obviously if this installation procedure creates a log file or extracts temp files in the same directory as its launched.. obviously its going to bomb out. Anyone currently using the install from cdrom method for using the custom mst with MSO? Thanks!

I was just trying 'del' and it wasnt working... but Im still left with a problem... how can I import the reg file now that im using the Setup cmd (run file after extraction) for this delete command? I tried placing it in the presetup (run before extraction), but it doesnt seem to work...

Without using additional scripting (batch,vbs,etc), is it possible to add an additional command in an SFX that deletes a particular file after it runs via the setup parameter? Basically, ive got a few sfx installers that import reg settings using "Setup=regedit /s settings.reg" and I want to have that file deleted once its been imported... possible? t i a

Can anyone offer a suggestion as to how to register Tag & Rename? I took a RegSnap before and after applying my reg info (name and key) and it came back with the following key... [HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1275210071-1606980848-682003330-1003\Software\Softpointer\Tag&Rename\Config] "cbVQFFtoTagReplaseUnde"="XXXXXXXXX" "Name"="XXXXXXX" Problem is the hive under HKEY_USERS appears to be randomly generated upon every install. Just an update for anyone who cares... The only reason why I created this VBScript is because I wanted to install into a folder other than the default. I finally found that while the suggestions prathapml was giving me were in the right direction, the parameter to define the installation path was incorrect... Launch the Diskeeper installer, search for the msi file it creates than run setup.msi INSTALLDIR=C:\Blah\diskeeper /qn so its INSTALLDIR... not INSTALLLOCATION thx for the help on this prathapml!
