Hi Jumper, I have noticed a strange behaviour of SeaMonkey 2.6.1 that started with v17. I use also SM's email client and (I am sure you know that) it works in a way that the actual contents of a mail are stored in one file and an index file is created automatically. Usually inbox.msf, sent.msf, etc. So after deleting some emails one can use compress/compact-function to keep the files as small as possible. However, now the index files are getting somehow corrupted because SeaMonkey creates msf-files of 0 KB size !! Nothing that I tried within 98SE fixed this and it happens on all machines. The only way that I found was to boot, in my case, onto XP install SeaMonkey 2.6.1 and fix the msf-files there !! Of course, after that I tested it again just in case it was some weird glitch but the 'corruptions' still occur. Thanks, MiKl Update I just booted an old installation running only KernelEx without ReactOS enhancements !! SeaMonkey 2.0.14 is installed and everything works. But after upgrading to Kex-v17 the msf-problem occur there as well. Hope this helps.

Hi Jumper, it looks like as if the new version somehow breaks printing of KernelEx-apps here on my systems. I noticed it first on SeaMonkey, but printing there was always somewhat unreliable so I did not thought much of it. @ Schwups. When you have the time can you try to open a write-protected file with notepad++ ?? .txt, .ini or whatever. Does it chrash too on ME ?

Hi Schwups, thank you very much for the report !! Had to remove two reactos file's (dbghelp.dll and crypt32.dll) and that fixed it. It seem to be still necessary to delete the dll's from it's plugin-folder but it is otherwise running fine. Toolbar is back, yeah !! Thanks again and thanks Jumper.

So far, I have not encountered any issues with this Beta - in fact, it looks like as if my system with SeaMonkey and many open tabs is somewhat 'faster' than before. Cool !! Unfortunately no progress on the other fronts like SeaMonkey higher than 2.6.1., K-Meleon, Notepad higher than 7.3.2., etc. Thanks for all the hard work !!!

Tested with SM 2.10.1, 2.14.1, 2.32.1. KM 74_31 'fails to initialiize'.

Hi Jumper, after adding the dll's from the latest ReactOS (.5) it looks like as if there is now some progress possible with SeaMonkey higher than 2.09.1 !! Before that the exe just crashed but now it asks for SetDllDirectoryW. Is there maybe a new version coming soon ?? Thanks for all your hard work. Update: I had forgotten that I had deactivated SetDllDirectoryW in that test system. After activating&reboot the seamonkey.exe now stops and mentiones GetProcessIoCounters which is present in kexbases.

Latest VLC player 2.2.5.1 seem to work fine !!

ReactOS 0.4.4 has been released around two weeks ago !! So far none of the dll's which I use seem to cause any problems.

I could test on 98SE, XP (Home & Pro) and 7 !

By the way, I just looked into my core.ini and I noticed that I (still ?) have in several sections: KERNEL32.VerSetConditionMask=none KERNEL32.VerifyVersionInfoA=none KERNEL32.VerifyVersionInfoW=none Can these entries be deleted now ? Update: After disabling SetDllDirectoryA/W in core.ini multi-media like Youtube works but trying to print still crashes SeaMonkey with kexbasen16.

Apilog for kexbases 'media' crash - Flash, etc. Looks like CreateProcessW might be the culprit.

Here are my first results. Most KernelEx depending apps that I use like VLC player seem to work fine with the latest release !! Unfortunately have some problems with SeaMonkey 2.6.1. - kexbases seem to cause a crash of SeaMonkey when playing flash videos. Unfortunately no entries in faultlog. - kexbasen seem to cause a crash of SeaMonkey when trying to print. Below two different crashlogs because I tested different printer drivers. (No 'stapelwerte' from the second tested driver)

Thanks Jumper, it was fun going through all these functions !! One forward seem to have fixed one little issue I had with SeaMonkey's email-suite. And the machine seem to be a little bit faster now. Especially OpenOffice loads rather quick. One stub (ntdll.RtlTimeToSecondsSince1970) forwarded to ROS broke (at least) VLC Player so I continue do use the classic 'z2'. However, no progress on the other bigger problems - like running SeaMonkey higher than 2.6.1 ! Thank you for your continuing support.

So can you maybe add stubs for : NtCompleteConnectPort=z2 NtConnectPort= NtCreateEvent= NtCreateIoCompletion= NtCreateKey=z2 NtCreateNamedPipeFile= NtCreatePort=z2 NtCreateSection= Are you with 4.17 then reaching XP SP3 level ?

Hi Drugwash, thank you for the infos. I tried/tested various things but unfortunately nothing helped. Does anyone maybe know what the difference is between a pre-scan and a real scan ?? I mean, shouldn't the same files/dlls been used ? Thx, MiKl

May have been some kind of a bug because the new version 7.1 asks if it should delete the none working plugins on first launch ! (A bug of course most likely only affecting older OS's like 98SE )

Are these entries generally recommended or only when there are problems with FlsAlloc ?? Thx, MiKl

Hi Guys, I have a Lexmark 1130 Printer/Scanner-Combo. Drivers are installed and the device manager does not show any problems !! I only use it to scan so the printer is not installed. Through the years whenever I wanted to scan the app complained about that but scanned anyway !! - When I just pre-scan everything is fine. But trying to do a real scan causes a crash. Clicking on the printer folder freezes the OS. I tried different versions of spool32.exe and also de-installing KernelEx !! Trying to now install the printer causes the same problems. Hi Jumper, today I noticed that when I have one or more tabs open that SumatraPDF 3.1.2 does not freezes/hangs !! Maybe this will help if you try to fix this issue.

The newly released version 7 of Notepad++ works fine but on one of my machines I had to rename notepad's plugins folder to plugin otherwise the app would start with an 'unknown execption' message. Weird ....
