im going to use bolds guides for the first time now reason why, cause i want to rid myself of all the uneeded directx files for my little bit of programs (8) that i use daily main thing i see causing a prob, is winamp, heh, thanks for keeping your guide up and going bold

i think im going to actually take a look @ bolds guide now, since i've reached my limit with trial and error, since everything i have left, is used by the system all the time, so its pure luck everything i can actually remove now lol, ive gotten far without looking @ any guides , thats for sure -thx to clint, who was responsible for me getting this far, from his great batch's , scripts and reg files and giving me a dream of going further and of coarse fridge-raider, for his huge amount of tweaks, that have done a great deal on my computers performance, plus some extraz i took from his batch files, making me extra clean

well for many, no explorer/themes is not an option, but you can always do the same thing that Aegis , has done, but for yourself, leaving the files to keep explorer working, and such or if you wanted, you can take it a step further, i'd like to find out , why do much memory usage first myself, but if thats with video card drivers loaded, it makes sence then, but if not, its a bit high, even compared to what nlite can do, easily i have done this myself, making lots of stand alone appz, and such, and it took 3 days so far, including today, and as you can see in my signature, im really close

so how big of a windows will this leave you with my xp can game, has all my directx files i need, play music, have themes and use the internet, but also cant install programs, (most) run scripts, run basically anything a virus might try and use i guess were on the same page with my idea and yours, except, yours is using an os no one can afford but anyway, why soooo much ram usage? is that with video card drivers, cause that will explain it i guess also plz note, I have done all this on my own in the past 2-3 days with trial and error using clints test as a base + fridge-raiders cleanup files (added back themes removed IE not core) and xp system builder,

obviously you didn't do it right, or you would have noticed it was a difference of 100MB vs what nlite can do thx come again

remember also, its very easy to keep themes

np it is portable firefox from what i can see, not 100% but , yah know it says firefox CE as its folder

Thoses are standalones applications, dont need java, vbs, windows registry, sharedll... never have to reinstall them, to get them got to my site... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> here something for your list http://www.moox.ws/tech/mozilla/firefox.htm , optimised firefox , its faster, and runs from the folder, no registry entries

yeh basically all it does, is makes your run as a user, so in the case with IE, you can only download to my documents folder, you can also run it to the point, where you cant even get your bookmarks, from not having read rights, rofl, /C and /U are the other ways to run dropmyrights.exe, but really, when you do that, it sucks, lol, i prefer the default

lol, i admit it too, i am always loged in as admin why you might ask? cause too many things are needed to be loged in as a user, and have an admin account too if you want to secure you IE or EXPLORER from outside treats, even firefox,(and every other program) when running as administrator google dropmyrights its easy to use

dont most users run as admin anyway? what would the difference be?

I have a 9800 PRO 128MB i want to test what using different version of opengl.dll have on my system is it possible to change these, to get new features, or is it all video card dependant? thanks in advanced oh btw, anyone know where to download opengl.dll files?

it sure gets rid of slow loading of sites that i was noticing, on the norm now, all site load right away less timeouts my IE cache get 40MB of my memory, i think thats more than fair, for what i normally download with IE anyone else give this a try yet?

i found out where the error is occuring from the firewall software it resides somewhere in the registry tweaks, im gonna ween out what it might be since once the registry tweaks are applied, i have not found a software firewall that will run any idea what tweak would cause outpost pro to complain , thinking that its switched users? i found what will prevent firewall software from working ;Prevents background services from interacting with users [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Windows] "NoInteractiveServices"=dword:00000001 dont apply that tweak, or you will not be using your third party firewalls thanks guys, i think im going to play around with this now regtweaks_full.reg is where that will be located is this tweak ;Boost Foreground and Background Task Priority "Win32PrioritySeparation"=dword:00000026 the same as the one in nlite boost forground task priority? after cleanup i am currently \windows @ 188MB i think this is mainly due to removing oembios.* , but i also left themes, wmp 9, removed some other stuff with nlite, and added ryanvm update pcks, extra file in \windows for removal , TASKMAN.EXE, i havn't found a use for it yet

red_house, i dont got that much time on my hands but this thread help lots of users, quickly, no need to put it down and nlite is great, fast, easy and simple and i havn't seen anyone congrate themselves yet, flame on , flame on

ive encountered i like bit of a problem, i did the cleanup and the tweaks, and nlite just as you have, (except kept a bit more) now when testing, i cannot get outpost pro firewall nor sygate firewall nor any other one i downloaded to work im gonna try without the tweaks, and cleanup, to see if this helps at all any ideas?

yeh i must agree about those codepage files 3dgameman.com was the frist site to mess up when i removed some of those in the past but, thanks fridge-raider, ive gotten pretty close to what im looking for, great work, i'd also like to thank nuhi, jeremy and clint

i found my errror, it wasn't the space i made a second file with only the tweaks i needed, and cause of this, and the fact i was without sleep for too long, as i still am forgot the registry file line of the file

how would i go about importing that stuff to the registry? how would i know it worked, i tried REGEDIT /S remove stuff.reg but it didn't seem to do anything does this have to be done this way only through cmdlines.txt? do i have to point to cmdlines.txt in another file?
