yessa...check out the kernal with pa at the end. it is in the system32 folder...Why not just change the boot.ini file???...same difference as replacing kernel...

I know that somewhere is a group of icons that holds the explorer toolbar icons. (back forward, search, etc...) I have dones searching on the internet and haven't found the spot yet. anyone know off the top of their head? any help is appreciated.

Is there any software that can test a dvi port to confirm it is going bad? I have an x800 pro. thx

also...look at it this way. if you pay wraith money for it then wouldn't you expect to get better versions of xplode and get them quicker? I have a sneeky suspicion you would also...also...xplode is so pretty and can be easily customized.

I am glad to hear that the corporate version is so cheap. But I see it has already happended. If you can make it they can break it. Tread lightly Wraith, there are some really talented ppl like yourself on this site and I would hate to see cracked versions or just cracks for xplode out on the net. Then you would give up letting the public get xplode and there would be no xplode @ all. Hopefully that will not happen but creating a time limit is like throwing a dog a bone. It just calls for some ppl to crack the limit. Personally I have no problem with paying a measly 10 bucks for xplode (as long as that includes access to updates). Other than that farwell and hope all goes well.

here is where the pallete is at in the NEW kernel (ie. with ryanvm's pack) 74f87 = pallete it must be an updated version but the offsett values are different. I will post the rest if I find them. Does anyone else know?

yup I downloaded xp from the internet and it has a good version of the cab file. Now all I have to do is a lil handy work and I will have a good driver.cab file that will let ryanvm's pack and nlite work correctly w/out having a driver.cab files that is missing files. ya know the popular cyycoins.chm and all those files. that is what is causing that issue for me at least. Ps I am not going to use the driver.cab that came from the downloaded xp. I don't trust it could have viruses or something. I will just take these few files that are in there. bye all

Ok i guess no one wants to send them too me. I don't blame you. My original xp disk is long gone. it got scratched and is long gone in the trash by now. BUT i did keep a successfull copy of sp1 slipped on my hdd and later cd. Now that is the only reference and it has a corrupted file. I ordered an xp (copy) cd from someone on the internet for $10.00 but haven't recieved it yet. It is the sp2 version of the cd. I am a couple of hours away from downloading xp sp2 from the internet so I will just see if that has a non corrupted driver.cab or if atleast I can extract the files I need out of the cab. Thanks anyways.

Hello I have a corrupted driver.cab file on my original cd and I need a few files (compared to the 4000 in there) in order to recreate a driver.cab file. I was wondering if any of you could extract these files from your driver.cab and email them to me. I cannot get them to extract and I cannot get them from windows. If i use %APPDATA% in the path section when creating an sfx it will extract fine in windows. But when installing windows it just creates a folder in programfiles called "%appdata%". Now I understand that if I just put appdata as the path it would always go to programfiles but is the reason that it doesn't go to the correct folder (when installing) because the environmental variables don't exist or what ?????? I am running it @ cmdlines.txt Help! my custom installations depend on it

I don't use the tag and it works fine but xplode gives an error in the log file. Don't think it hurts though.

Don't know about the password stuff as I never use one. But the file I/O isn't working yet so that could be the issue. I guess you could make a batch and use the xcopy command to copy the folders. Ya could even rar up the two folders to save space and use that to extract it.

Well old XPlode didn't help. Guess it has to do w/ the inf. dunno.... Guess I will just leave the inf files in runonecex

If this if for XPlode4 then you need to read the doc. file b/c the syntax is <execute> <program>blah blah</program> <arguments>blah blah</arguments> </execute> You are using the old syntax. Hope this helps

I think I found the problem. After looking over the log file again you will notice that it is after the "main" inf tweak that I get the access denied. this is where I make adjustment to the system. I believe that is the problem. Here is the trimmed down log anyhoo. didn't work. still the same issues. :sigh: have to wait until after work to install w/old xplode. xplode.log

Fixed the serial. ****, I thought I didn't have any stuff like that in there. Will get the new log posted after work. I am running this w/cmdlines.txt Not much more I can say than what is in my first post. All the programs install fine as always. the only things I have changed is to start using xplode 4. and moved inf files to be installed w/xplode. Here is the exact occurance of the issue. 1. Get and error at the first instance of installing the inf file. it says that I don't have access to a certain file. (wish I could remeber, will get if necassary) 2. then says the installation failed for the inf. 3. says installation failed for second inf. 4. says installatino failed for third inf. 5. after clicking ok for each of these errors xplode closes as normal and the rest of the installation finishes.l 6.Puter starts up and runonceex begins. I have 3 proggies installing and 1 batch file that runs. 7. On every attempt to run a program I get access denied. 8. after clicking ok for each of these errors it loads windows. 9. windows doesn't have any themes enabled but the service is started. 10. all services are as normal. 11. I cannot get to itmes in the control panel, system properties, and not even the display properties. Everything says I don't have permission. 12. sounds like my account is restriced BUT this is the administrator account. I will also run the same installation w/ old xplode to verfiy if it is version 4 or not. will check back in this evening to post my trimmed log and after that tommorrow morning. l8r

And here is a trimmed down version of xml file that I used for testing. It did the same thing. Forgot to mention that all the runonceex proggies say access denied. Basically almost every program that runs has access denied XPlode2.xml

Well, I have tried with and without creating an account and the same with sfc disable. Everytime it gets to starting rundll32.exe it first says that I don't have access to a certain file. Then says that installation failed. In my log it only shows it at the last rundll32 but it happens on all of them. Edit: It only says that access to the file is denied once and then has installation failed on each rundll32. (Although I don't think the file that is denied access to has anything to do with the issue) Also when windows starts it says that I don't have permission for quite a few things. Examples would be changing the display properties and going to the device manager. Seems as if I have very restricted permissions but on one test I was the aministrator as there was no other accounts.
