  1. The SFXCAB version won't really matter unless you're doing some advanced stuff like using extended conditionals or running processes before uninstalling the archive, etc. Then the newer it is, the better. For basic stuff even old versions, ex. 5.x.x.x are enough.
  2. By the way, isn't Agent Ransack better and more intuitive than all those Windows default search tools?
  3. I know but still The dog is a little more difficult to eliminate though. FDV provides this tool: dogdestroyer.exe (source: http://www.vorck.com/windows/) It will kill the dog once and for all. He also shows how many useless entries in registry were added just to provide this "feature".
  4. UURollup-v10 is available at http://www.windows2000.tk/#uurollup. You should just re-download it using one of the three links listed there.
  5. But isn't XP just an updated Windows 2000? Of course a lot of nice features were added but there are also many useless ones.
  6. This is the list: A guide to a fully updated Windows 2000 (see under 'Complete method'). Of course it's targeted at HFSLIP but almost all of the packages can be also installed manually in a running system.
  7. @pichorra First of all, I think you should try integrating only the 5eraph's XP x64 update pack and testing it like that (without any other addons and modifications) so it will be clear whether it is the addon to be responsible for the problem.
  8. How recent is recently? I'm sure you downloaded the pre-release version. The error you're talking about has been fixed in the "official" version (thanks SearanoX for help in solving this problem). What I mean is that the file currently available to download is different than the one you downloaded. You can download it again and compare MD5 - they will not match. I'm sorry about what happened but there was a reason I didn't announce UURollup-v10 earlier because I wanted to test it thoroughly. The version available to download at the moment should be error-free.
  9. I've managed to set up a website: http://www.windows2000.tk I want to store there all information, details and links related to USP 5.2 and other packages. Of course I'll update this topic too Any comments or critique is welcomed. Please tell me if there is something missing, something more to add or if there are any errors. I've added the URL together with the icon (thanks bphlpt!) to my signature.
  10. UURollup-v10 (ENU) is ready! Update Rollup 2 is ready too (only ENU version at the moment)! Please see the first post for details. I have also managed to set up a simple website: http://www.windows2000.tk I've tried to gather all information in one place. Please tell me if there is anything missing or if there are any errors on it.
  11. @Tripredacus Are you sure about that? I've got an UEFI motherboard (ASRock A55 Pro3) and had no problems with installing Windows 2000 on it. Is it only related to UEFI 2.3.1?
  12. Hey ilko_t, Do you remember #1687? I've just tried your new test version and it seems to run in Windows 2000.
  13. As I said I can't check it myself now but you can just try to create a text file, deny access to it for everyone and then run edit.com from commandline and try to edit the file.
  14. I'm not sure if it's a security flaw in Windows 8 but I managed to edit a protected file using the 16-bit "edit.com" command. Could anyone else check it? I haven't got access to Windows 8 at the moment.
  15. Something seems to be wrong. This is how it should look like: Could you try to fully uninstall Java using ex. RevoUninstaller and install it again?
  16. Could you try to open this page: http://www.java.com/en/download/testjava.jsp Does it hang there too?
  17. Could you give an example of such an application? I'd like to try it myself here. For screen shots I recommend Cropper.
  18. Isn't .243 the newest available to download? http://download.windowsupdate.com/WindowsUpdate/redist/standalone/7.4.7600.243/WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe
  19. I'm always ready to test although I can't really "improve" anything because of lack of any programming skills. I can only test the files in real environment. By the way, it'd be nice go have GetGeoInfoW GetUserGeoID in kernel32.dll. They are required for Chromium (Google Chrome, SRWare Iron) to work. The two APIs are present in BlackWingCat's kernel32.dll.
  20. You may want to try 5eraph's Windows XP x64 post-SP2 Update Pack. 2K3 x64 and XP x64 are basically the same system.
  21. I tested with UURollup installed. Nowadays I don't really check without UURollup because, frankly speaking, W2K without the unofficial kernel (which is included in UURollup) would be unusable It was the newest version, i.e. ver. 2.9.
  22. Very nice access time Better than mine (6.2 ms) on a SAS 15 000 rpm drive.
  23. Technically they should be equal to this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2419632 On the other hand, W2K's custom update MDAC281-KB983838-x86-ENU.exe installs only these five files: msado15.dll 2.81.1145.0 msadomd.dll 2.81.1145.0 msadox.dll 2.81.1145.0 msjro.dll 2.81.1145.0 odbc32.dll 3.525.1145.0 KB983838 for 2K = KB2419632 for XP
  24. You can install the newest version. 1. Download and unpack MiKTeX Portable. 2. Download LyX 2.0.3 installer. 3. Run it using KDW (fcwin2k.exe) like this: 4. Here you can link to the existing folder with tex.exe from MiKTeX. You need to input it manually (copy and past folder path). 5. Installation finished: 6. Now the program itself won't run as it seems to be compiled in Visual Studio 2010: 7. After installing UURollup:
