  1. Why doesn't MSN Messenger allow me to use odd sized fonts? If I set it to an odd sized font such as 9,11,13,etc, so on... it automatically chooses the higher even sized font. If I select size 9 font it automatically sets it to 10 and it doesn't matter what type of font I have selected. This isn't a problem in other IMs.
  2. Sorry for the lame topic title, but hey. I am considering buying a Dell, however I know with Dell and other manufacturers such as HP and so on they have a hidden partition sometimes with files that allow them to use their live helo support and whatever. Am I able to remove this without Dell gettin a hair across their buttocks?
  3. I just tried installing Supertrick XG, how it's not letting me edit the contents of the HOSTS file as it doesn't seem to know where it's located. I have 2 HOSTS files - HOSTS and HOSTS.txt HOSTS <--- says it's read-only and therefore not able to edit it HOSTS.txt <--- doesn't seem to recognize contents within Please advise as how to fix this problem.

  6. My current V/C just doesn't run games like they should anymore. I am currently a big NFSU 2 fan and I have to run everything on MINIMUM! Some tell me an FX 5200 is fine while others tell me I'll definintely need more than an FX 5200 to run such a game as NFSU 2 with details turned up fairly high. What is the verdict in this situation? Is there a V/C that won't cost me a few limbs and acheive the results I'm looking for? NOTE: I now run a Samsung SyncMaster 712N LCD. It don't matter which brand - ATI/Nvidia
  7. Got a Samsung SyncMaster 712N LCD for Xmas. I had a Samsung SyncMaster 750s CRT before this and one of the big advantages that the CRT had over my LCD was the displaying of text. I have turned Cleartype on in XP and even downloaded a tweak tool from iolsland.com called ClearTweak, but didn't make any difference that I seem to notice. Are there any other tweaks to apply to make it as best as possible or is this just a downfall of LCDs?
  8. My cousin just contacted me wanting to know how to install a harddrive in his laptop. Never dealing with laptops I decided to post online for help. So help please?
  9. I am thinking about getting XBL, however I have a dilemma. I have a wired Linksys BEFSR41 that is connected to my pc in my bedroom and my Xbox is in the family room. What are some ways that I can proceed to get online with my Xbox? I really DO NOT want to be running a long ethernet cable from the family room to my bedroom so therefore I need some suggestions on a solution. Please keep in mind I also use VoIP service so if recommending a Wireless Router inform me whether the router offers bandwidth control.
  10. I really want an LCD and I wanna upgrade my Video Card as it's falling behind in the race to be able to play current games. I've been told LCDs aren't really the way to go for extreme gamers, but I ain't extreme gamer. I've seen such games as Tiger Woods golf played and yes I realize this ain't an intense graphics game, however this was just with Intel integrated graphics. I don't want absolute best as I can't afford absolute best either. All opinions and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
  11. Yes I did. Not 100% sure but I believe there's just the single IDE connector on the board for a HD. I tried searching WD's site for drivers for my HD but didn't find anything. Any help would be great as the model # is WD1200JB-00FUA0.
  12. The original pc had the Maxtor (40gb HD) as Master and WD (120gb HD) as Slave. The new pc was going to use the WD (120gb HD) set as Master being that it was going to be the only HD since the Maxtor (40gb HD) was staying in the now old/original pc. Bios detected it, however when during the installtion phase of XP there was no HD detected!
  13. I recently attempted to build a 2nd pc. In the process I removed the SLAVE HD (WD 120gb) from the main pc at the time and put it in the new pc as it was a larger drive. While the BIOS did see a drive when it was connected as a Master HD, XP was unable to detect a drive, in the new pc being built. XP did see this HD when it was being slaved off the main HD (Maxtor 40gb).
