My cousin just contacted me wanting to know how to install a harddrive in his laptop. Never dealing with laptops I decided to post online for help.

So help please?


well its pretty easy.

but it depends on which brand the laptop is

i'll explain for mine: dell insipron 8200.

on the right side there is an infra-red slot which is like a black plastic.

under it there is a screw. u have to unscrew it then, gently pull down.

then pull it to the right side and the hdd will just come off.

after this u'll have to unscrew the screws that attach the hdd to the slot. after that just replace the old one with the new,

put in the screws. then push the whole thing into the slot and thats it.

since there are no cables its easy...
