January 6, 200521 yr I just tried installing Supertrick XG, how it's not letting me edit the contents of the HOSTS file as it doesn't seem to know where it's located.I have 2 HOSTS files - HOSTS and HOSTS.txtHOSTS <--- says it's read-only and therefore not able to edit itHOSTS.txt <--- doesn't seem to recognize contents withinPlease advise as how to fix this problem.
January 7, 200521 yr The hosts file has no extention. it is located at: c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts in windows XP... sounds like the program you're using is trying to open the hosts file as a directory not as a file.to edit the file just browse there open it with notepad and make whatever changes you want then hit file->save.
