  1. I have taken the original versions of these files, and modified them (added SATA support, change install directory, etc). I was wondering where to put them at. I don't want to put them in the SOURCE folder, as I want to keep that pure and only have the original files in there. I can't put them in the REPLACE folder, as then these files would overwrite the ones that HFSLIP had modified. So where can I put them so that HFSLIP can modify them? Thanks in advance. Note added by dencorso: The quote below preserves Acheron's answer to this post, which is not in this thread anymore.
  2. I am trying to find the .ext file for XP. All the links I could find to one are dead. Anyone know where I could get it? Thanks in advance.
  3. Its been awhile since any activity here on this thread. Figure I do a post. I am wondering that maybe there's an issue with the generic drivers Win2K uses at the GUI level of the instalation. So to me it seems that its the video card drivers, or maybe a mobo chipset drivers - especially since the video cards are PCIe, a technology that like SATA came out after Win2K was released. So here is my question: It has been dicussed at lenth how to slipstream SATA drivers into the install, is there a way to slipstream the chipset and/or video drivers? I'm hoping that if I can slipstream the correct mobo/video drivers that this error/issue will be resolved.
  4. I'm sorry if this has been discussed ad nauseam, but I fear I might spend many hours browsing the site only to have collected a bunch of outdated information. I have been using HFSLIP for many years to create slipstreamed non-IE Win2K installs. I am now wanting to do so with my WinXP installs as well. I have noticed from my research thus far that some people use just HFSLIP, some just NLITE, and other a hybrid approach where they use both HFSLIP and NLITE. So my question is as of Nov 2013, what is the best method to create a fully updated slipstream of WinXP with IE removed, and to reduce the size taken up on the install media. In addition to this I would also like to be able to add to the install some REG files, some fonts, replace notepad and charmap with alternative apps. Also, if anyone is of the opinion that NLITE or an HFSLIP/NLITE combo is better than just HFSLIP by itself for Win2K with the same goal - I would like to hear about it. Thanks in advance.
  5. No problem. I appreciate you taking the time to respond. So I guess me best bet would be to use your HFSLIP archive. I have a question though. I plan on using FDV's file set, and he instructs that a person use IE5, and the updates for IE5. What would I need to modify in your HFSLIP archive, if anything, in order to do so? On a different note, but in the same key: I am also wanting to do a slipstream of WinXP. I have been browsing the forum trying to figure out to prepare a fully updated WinXP. So I figure before I spend anymore time (or blank CDs) trying to do so, and possible using old info, I figure I ask since I currently have your ear. Do you also have a WinXP HFSLIP archive? Thanks again for all the help thus far!
  6. Ok, thanks for the info - I will avoid it.
