yup, should imagine the amount of questions we get asked in private messages, usually the ones that should be asked in these forums. Silly people really, they assume that the admin of a site is a Mr. Know-it-all...
Its different. Upgrading a firmware overwrites the chip's data inside your CD-RW, and in some cases cannot be reversible. You also void your warranty by flashing the firmware and there is a chance of a flashing failure that can render your CD-RW unusuable, so do it at your own risk!
Paste this into notepad: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ;Replace DefaultUserName value with the Username you want to autologin with. ;Replace DefaultPassword value with the password corresponding to the Username specified. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "DefaultUserName"="CHANGEME" "DefaultPassword"="CHANGEME" "AutoAdminLogon"="1" Change the required values, save as autologon.reg, and execute the file and click Yes on the dialog window that appears.
Starting the MSBetaNG site back in June 2001 I needed a nickname for the site news and IRC Channel, but I lacked creativity so I just stuck an XP to the end of my name carried on from since then. Gonna have to change it soon though.
You can't do that unfortunately, because of the digital signatures that XP Setup checks for. There doesn't seem to be a known workaround, and probably never will be.
yup. And for your other question on uxtheme, I've had a similar problem when I replaced notepad with metapad, Windows restored it back to the original because its restoring from the Windows CD. It will help a lot to take the CD out when the GuiRunOnce batch has started. (yeah WFP is a b*tch)
I plan on getting an LCD next month too, preferably an 18", but I'm having trouble in choosing one for all sorts (games, movies, work, and internet stuff), cos I'm always hearing good and bad things about different brands
Bretenn: Email notification? what? The code can be pasted into notepad and saved as main_batch.cmd and applications.cmd and so on. Gamehead200: sorry, I'm not that advanced in DOS commands, don't know how to delete all files except for a certain extension. Maybe typing del /? at the command prompt will give you more information on this. Geckotek: Some applications coded in Visual Studio 2003 require .Net Framework 1.1 to function. Its the same way when we had to install the VB6 runtimes to run certain applications back in the day. Thanks for your contribution btw, I'll take note of it.
